I posted "declined" too early. I tried getting in touch with them all day. I'll post tomorrow when I actually speak to someone.

haha she was really nice about it and i kinda appreciated not just getting the letter in the mail since i had a good rapport with her throughout the process. It was just like "I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news but XYZ because ABC, i hope our paths cross again soon though" etc... You win some you lose some thoughAnonymous User wrote:So they actually called and said, "we will not be extending you an offer?"Anonymous User wrote:Sidley ding by phone lol fuck my life. Re: UChicago OCI 2014
lol I just now got a CB invite for S&C... after already having accepted another offer elsewhere.
Also, I finally just got a pre-CB ding via email from Sheppard Mullin (NYC). I think I only have a couple more firms I have yet to hear from since OCI until I am completely done.

Still no formal ding or cb from Latham Chicago lol.
Do any 3L's know if it's possible to get a Sidley/Kirkland offer from 3L OCI? I know some of the NYC firms will come for 3L's but i wasn't sure if the Chicago firms did the same.

Someone mentioned earlier they already had an offer from Katten. Anyone know Katten's post-CB offer/ding method?

Kirkland did some 3L mass mail CBs, not sure about Sidley probably the same. It's a lot better to go into that process with a 2L summer post SA offer though.Anonymous User wrote:Still no formal ding or cb from Latham Chicago lol.

Kirkland did 3L hiring for Corporate and Restructuring this year (two very busy areas at the firm). As far as I know, little/less 3L hiring for lit.Anonymous User wrote:Still no formal ding or cb from Latham Chicago lol.

Re: UChicago OCI 2014
As things start to wrap up - maybe a good time to start posting results for the benefit of future classes? Was reading the HLS EIP thread where they're now posting results, and thought it'd be a good thing to add to ours.
For me (K&E/LR/2y WE):
NYC: 6/8 screener -> CB, 4/6 CB -> offer (two still outstanding)
DC: 5/15 screener -> CB, 3/4 CB -> offer (declined one CB)
CA: 4/6 screener -> CB, 1/4 CB -> offer (three still outstanding)
Other (Houston, Chicago): 1/2 screener -> CB (no results either way so far, but probably gonna be a ding)
Didn't mass-mail because lazy
Don't underestimate how hard DC is, future 2Ls. I got butchered even with the grades and a pretty good (I felt) story on why I wanted to be there. The summer classes are small and a lot of the other K&Es targeted it.

LR (below K&E), Midwestern ties
CBs/Screeners
6/7 NY
5/10 Chicago
3/3 Secondary
Don't underestimate how tough Chicago is either. Many of the "less grade selective" firms have tiny class sizes and can be very picky with their CBs. In retrospect, I bid rather poorly in that regard.

Re: UChicago OCI 2014
Am the DC/NY/LA anon from above. I meant screener -> CB, not CB -> offer, as those are still coming in. But I'll add that so far and update as things change. But I agree overall that both sets of info are most useful.Regulus wrote:If we're doing this, I think it would be helpful to post for each market not only the CB->Offer rate, but also screener -> CB rate. So, for example, if you did NYC:
New York:
OCI: 25 Screeners -> 8 Callbacks -> 5 Offers
Mass Mailing: 5000 mailed -> 4 Screeners -> 2 Callbacks -> 1 Offer
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
