You could just be on the B team. Pretty common for firms to bring in more candidates than they have spots for, and then only ding the clear negatives, so that they don't have to start from scratch if/when someone goes elsewhere.Anonymous User wrote:How long did you wait between CB->offer? Do you mind sharing which group for Fitzpatrick (litigation or prosecution)?

Re: Loyola PLIP 2013: Brace yourselves...
I will probably be doing 3L PLIP next year. Any 3L care to share how it worked out for them this year? Did you do it because you were looking to change from one SA to another market, did you strike out during 2L OCI, were firms even really hiring 3Ls, etc.

Re: Loyola PLIP 2013: Brace yourselves...
i did PLIP as a 3L. i didn't do it previous years because I was working at a company (not law related) and for a variety of reasons, couldn't just take a summer off to work as an SA.Anonymous User wrote:I will probably be doing 3L PLIP next year. there were a lot of firms LOOKING AT 3Ls (emphasis on "LOOKING AT"). most of the firms I talked to didn't care that I had no legal experience. they were more interested in my work experience. here are my stats: 14 pre-selects; 4 CBs; 5 dings; 1 post-CB ding; 1 offer thus far
with that said, here is my soapbox spiel: if you go in as a 3L, you are very likely the 'B' option for most firms. a lot of firms are looking to shore up their back up options should their 2L class turn down offers that were made. for one firm in CA, I was the only 3L on the interview list (also got a ding from them about two weeks after PLIP).
if you have a solid resume, you should be fine. just have a good explanation ready as to why you are there as a 3L.
good luck!

If we haven't heard back yet (from the initial screener at the patent fair), should we just assume that we aren't going to be hearing back?
