Interested to know how a "cold offer" is made. Any insight?

It only happens at firms that always keep 100% and where the person can actually find a different job. So I wouldn't worry if you aren't V10 SA.

ITE people just accept cold offers at average firms.

Were I in your position, I would make it clear that you wanted it to stop (to him). Let him know that you are willing to move up the chain if you have to, but really want to avoid that step. If he doesn't stop, then make good on the threat. Just an imo.

At least one cold offer has already gone out this summer. V100 NYC, not V10. And not an "acceptable" cold offer either.

(3) I have done the best job an SA could have done
(4) Since the hiring committee will not meet until early Sept, you should still do 3L OCI at your T10 school. (I was assured that every SA was told so.)

From a V firm with 700+ lawyers.

I don't like it.

I am not looking for anything as specific as the Firm name - but what "V" range/level? Also, any specific practice area focuses? This will help us gauge just how likely they are to sink or swim in the current economy.

At a mid-law firm that didn't offer their summer last year. I'll still be working until August 17. The August partners' meeting is August 13. This is like death by a thousand cuts.

V15 offer today. My grades went way, way down since after 1L. And it never came up. 3L will be even better...

One week left in my SA. I'm with a large firm(V100), but in a small office (25+) that hasn't had an SA in several years. The person that was supposed to act as the "go-between" has been MIA since week 1. I was busy this summer, I got a lot of interesting, legit work - however, I never received any feedback of any kind. There have been no talks of reviews.

I feel like I did some quality work this summer. I didn't shit in anyone's face. While I can't point to any instance that would lead to a "no offer", I can't point to a situation where I really earned the job either.

I'm just venting really - the difference between receiving an offer and a "no offer" is just so huge....
