So one of my fellow SA's is a total ass and has made some really shitty comments to me this summer disguised as jokes. Today's incident was especially offensive... I've been just ignoring him but I'm sick of it and pissed off. Do I tell my adviser?

Asking me stupid questions so he can make an insulting comment about my expression, asking inappropriately personal questions... today he criticized my appearance.

Have you considered telling him to fuck off? That might be more mature than telling on him

Were I in your position, I would make it clear that you wanted it to stop (to him). Let him know that you are willing to move up the chain if you have to, but really want to avoid that step. If he doesn't stop, then make good on the threat. Just an imo.Anonymous User wrote:bjsesq wrote:

i assume that he's a guy and you're a woman
get him no-offered
first, because it'd be hilarious
second, it'd be for his own good because he really needs to learn that thats a line you don't want to get close to in the professional world

Did your firm not force you to watch a harassment video? This sounds like the exact scenario that mine depicted.Anonymous User wrote:bjsesq wrote:

At least one cold offer has already gone out this summer. V100 NYC, not V10. And not an "acceptable" cold offer either.Desert Fox wrote:It only happens at firms that always keep 100% and where the person can actually find a different job. If I may ask, what exactly is a "cold offer"?

Firm extends offer but either tells you directly or the writing on the wall clearly suggests that it would be better if you look at other opportunities.clone22 wrote:If I may ask, what exactly is a "cold offer"?

I am not looking for anything as specific as the Firm name - but what "V" range/level? Also, any specific practice area focuses? This will help us gauge just how likely they are to sink or swim in the current economy.chadwick218 wrote:Firm?Anonymous User wrote:So here is what I was told today:

At a mid-law firm that didn't offer their summer last year. I'll still be working until August 17. The August partners' meeting is August 13. This is like death by a thousand cuts.

What does "clearly suggests" mean here? Can you give an example of a cold offer?chadwick218 wrote:Firm extends offer but either tells you directly or the writing on the wall clearly suggests that it would be better if you look at other opportunities.clone22 wrote:If I may ask, what exactly is a "cold offer"?

I want a firm name. V range is a step above meaningless.monkey85 wrote:I am not looking for anything as specific as the Firm name - but what "V" range/level? Also, any specific practice area focuses? V15 offer today. My grades went way, way down since after 1L. And it never came up. 3L will be even better...

I'm the other anon from Fri Jul 27, 2012 5:23 am. V50 firm, 700+, major market. Told to do OCI because the paperwork to make offers won't be done until early-mid Sept., but to call them if I get an offer elsewhere and they'll strongly wink.rad lulz wrote:I want a firm name. Re: ITT: Summer Associates Post About Their Anxiety (2012)
One week left in my SA. I'm with a large firm(V100), but in a small office (25+) that hasn't had an SA in several years. The person that was supposed to act as the "go-between" has been MIA since week 1. I was busy this summer, I got a lot of interesting, legit work - however, I never received any feedback of any kind. There have been no talks of reviews.
I feel like I did some quality work this summer. I didn't shit in anyone's face. While I can't point to any instance that would lead to a "no offer", I can't point to a situation where I really earned the job either.
I'm just venting really - the difference between receiving an offer and a "no offer" is just so huge....

Doesn't this make you feel like you have to get a 3L offer to get an offer from them?!?!Anonymous User wrote:
