There is a large number of lawyers at top firms or boutiques that went to prestigious undergrads and law schools and worked at Wachtell or clerked for some renowned judges. What's really rare and impressive are those that have such credentials and look hot with good bodies.

Obama was a best selling author before being president, and also had a Grammy before being president. (I think he was actually a 2x best seller and 2x Grammy winner , but not gonna look that up). Dreams from my father, which he wrote during law school if I recall, got incredible reviews.Prudent_Jurist wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 4:35 pmJust because Obama was not a bestselling author does not mean his winning the Presidency does not contribute to making him a prestigious lawyer.

She’s not Sue Meng in terms of US credentials, but Ina Popova is pretty brilliant too.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 1:21 pmDebevoise has 2 SCOTUS clerks and a Rhodes Scholar ... in the M&A group...

Do you work in Joe Manchin’s PR office? The infrastructure bill has similar amounts of pork (especially for West Virginia) to much that’s preceded it. The Democrats can’t agree that more voting rights are a good thing even among themselves - when demographic shifts are clearly in their favor - let alone convince the Republicans (who’ve figured out that they’ll get in by having fewer people vote rather than by winning more votes).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 11:26 pmThe fact your believe this doomer nonsense while an (essentially) divided government:
a) Passed a series of covid relief bills that propped up much of the economy during a global pandemic
b) Funded one of the fastest vaccine plans in world history (and made Americans have broad vaccine availability well before most other first world countries)
c) Passed a significant and major bipartisan infrastructure package
Suggests you really don't recognize the successes of this government. The Biden administration is still getting its feet under it, but I'm confident it will end up doing well.
Meanwhile, nothing’s happening on the environment (which is a pretty key concern for everyone under 60, regardless of affiliation), law and order is a bigger concern in cities than it’s been at any point this millennium, and the big talking point for a bunch of folks who do nothing but cut taxes and confirm zealots to courts is some misunderstanding of critical race theory. Yup, this is a great use of our tax dollars.

Thank you for clarifying that. Otherwise, graduating from Columbia would have been a huge stain on her resume.Lacepiece23 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 12:27 amand only transferred to Columbia to take care of her sick husband.

Transferring could very slightly diminish the feat of getting the highest GPA at Columbia, not because it's a trash school but because only four semesters of grades were at issue. (It doesn't really matter in RBG's case because she'd also aced her exams at Harvard and of course did all of this marching uphill through midcentury sexism.)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 8:52 amThank you for clarifying that.
