Out of morbid curiosity -- what is Wachtell like?
Pretty traditional. Lot of dark wood and interesting art. Not a lot of glass or natural light. Lawyers are all in offices. Administrative staff are in a sort of open floorplan arrangement.

Amenities-wise -- office kitchens on most floors with snacks and drinks, dining room on one with a nightly catered dinner. Can't think of anything else of note; there's no cafeteria, special firm gym, rec room with ping-pong or w/e.

Overall, would say it's on-brand for WLRK. Great place to get work done. Not gonna get written up in Interior Design Digest.

Any insight on the bigger Century City offices? Really curious about Manatt's new HQ they moved into in 2020.

there were people playing ping pong when I did a my office tour awhile back but that could just be manufactured
Given the fact that KE is not really known as a lifestyle firm, I’m going to assume that it’s manufactured. Although I guess there could always be people who have no active deals at any given point.
At any given time a number of K&E associates are waiting on the next deal and have not a ton to do with the ups and downs of PE M&A work. I doubt it's manufactured lol.

Pretty standard offices - building was near Times Square IIRC. Doors were wood, not glass, and it wasn’t particularly memorable. Nice views from partners’ offices, and I saw a few conference rooms, which were okay. Not sure if they have a cafeteria.

Do you know if Debevoise will have a gym at the new office or what their external gym subsidy is?

IIRC they will be subsidizing the equinox that is nearby but not 100% sure on that one

Going to make a pitch for Gibson Dunn’s LA offices. They might not actually be the fanciest in terms of amenities, but the entryway to reception is epic (a la blade runner 2049), the views are unbelievable, and the partner offices boast space and decor. It’s been years since my last time visiting there but I’ll never forget it.

Shoutout to Cleary NY and Akin NY’s views as well.

DC has several elegant floor plans, but nothing as physically commanding as some of the New York and Los Angeles locations from my experience.

Seconding this. I visited once years ago and I still remember my jaw hitting the ground when I stepped out of the elevator. And I'm not exactly a country bumpkin.

Nothing in DC is taller than like 13 stories (by law) so that's probably why.

I was surprised by how underwhelming Latham's LA and Century City offices were. I know LW doesn't have a traditional "HQ", but I figured LA and/or CC would at least be very nice given the firm's local roots. Pretty disappointing.

KE's new LA and Century City offices, meanwhile.....just wow. That firm is not shy about throwing money into its offices.

Any updated thoughts on Skadden’s new NY office? Has the gym opened yet? Any free perks like food / drinks etc.?

Cleary NY has a really good view of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty.

Latham NY is very well-decorated - each floor has a different theme and overall has a startup feel.

The building and office space itself is very nice, conference rooms are great with some wonderful views, gym is open and fantastic, nice cafeteria. The attorney offices themselves, though, are glass walls to the hall, which is less than ideal. First years (and second years until external offices open up) are in shareable internal offices. All external offices are the same size, regardless of seniority, which I am sure some of the partners don't love :)

As for food and drinks, free breakfast everyday (hot items like eggs and breakfast meats and pancakes/waffles/french toast, plus cold items like fruit, pastries and donuts), and snacks (goldfish, trail mix, chocolate bars, protein bars, chips, etc.) on every third floor in the "hub" on those floors and in the attorney lounges on those floors. Free coffee in various places (in kitchen on every floor, in the hubs, and at the barista in the cafeteria); IMO coffee options at the barista are best, then hub, then kitchens. Water and seltzer on every floor.
