    One of the firm I recently had a CB with asked me for the firms I was interviewing with and wrote them down ... is that a common practice at the CB stage? I guess the hiring committees have a certain numbers of bid to make offers and want to make sure that if they give offers there is at least a high percentage that the student will take that offer ... thoughts? Comments?

    They're probably trying to gauge whether you're looking at firms of a similar size/culture/practice areas (so that they know you're not bullsh*tting them). Anytime I was asked this question, I deflected (i.e., "I'm interviewing with firms of a similar size/firms that also specialize in patent litigation"). No one has pressed me further, and I have 5 offers so far. I think it's better to just keep quiet on these sorts of things because the legal world is small and people talk.

    I honestly have no idea. It's not as though firms are shy about dinging you after a CB. Seems like the most probable explanation is just that they're still deliberating.

    Simpson Thacher took a while but I finally got the ding. Still haven't officially been dinged by S&C.

    Accepted PH offer, and declined a DM callback received today ... looks like DM is still doing callbacks ... still haven’t gotten back from Skadden DE, that was my first choice ... hope they will ding me soon at this point

    No particular reason ... actually I was very interested in DM’s Bankruptcy group ... by the time I received the callback I had already accepted PH’s offer

    Separately — I just received Skadden DE ding, I fee a little bit demoralized actually ... anyway life goes on
