School Range: CCN
Market(s): NYC
Approximate class rank: Top 1/3
Law review/secondary journal: secondary journal
Work experience: none
IP background: no
Anything else that might have an impact?: Not socially awkward, but very bad at the "narrative telling" aspect of interviews. Some ability in a language that is commercially important but that not very many law students know.
Screening Interviews: 24
Callbacks received: 4
Callbacks accepted: 3
Offers w/vault ranges: 1 V5 (What is now pretty funny in retrospect is that I got rejected at every firm besides what I considered to be my biggest "reach" firm. I was very close to striking out, though, and feel very lucky to have received an offer at all.)
How many firms just didn't get back with you with a rejection/callback?: 0
Thank-you notes sent: 0

Maybe their CSOs did release hard data?

Mine used to release it, but hasn't this year so I can't comment on our placement this year.

At my T14, we were told that it was the best recruiting season since before the recession. Higher percentage of the class in biglaw, very few not in biglaw that wanted it (but are still looking), and firms reaching deeper into the class than usual (again, more like pre-recession days). Also, more firms and more offices recruiting, more callbacks overall, more offers per student on average. Taking out people who self-select into public service or business and the majority are doing well.

Same.
Maybe we go to the same school. But this wasn't disclosed publicly (CSO told me in person).
Makes me feel worse for striking out...

Original anon here, my CSO said this in an email to 2Ls and at an event for 1Ls.

It sucks that people are striking out, but I think the general consensus is that biglaw hiring at the T14 went incredibly well.

not just T14, my school is only ranked around 30 something, the big law takes lots of people this year ever coming down to school to ask for 3L. Hopefully the good time will last another two years. It seems another round of recession may hit soon. :x

Might be a rather dumb question...but is this simply summer of 2L work positions? not necessarily job offer for after 3L?

Yes, but many of these are at 100% offer firms. Not all, of course.

School Range: T14 (Transfer from a TTT)
Market(s): NYC
Approximate class rank: At TTT (Top 2%)
Law review/secondary journal: No
Work experience: 0
IP background: No
Anything else that might have an impact?: I was 21 while interviewing with a complete lack of life/work experience on my resume. Decent interviewer but that may have hurt me.
Screening Interviews: 19
Callbacks received: 8
Callbacks accepted: 6
Offers w/vault ranges: 1 (V20)
Thank-you notes sent: Sporadically; don't think it played any role.

Note: Offer ended up coming off of a mass mail. I sent out around 300 emails/letters after EIW and landed an additional 4-5 screeners + a couple callbacks (cancelled 2-3 callbacks after I received the offer).

Is there any easier way to download the raw data? It's just coming up as a regular text page rather than Excel spreadsheet. Quite difficult to manage and analyze.

In the future when that happens, you can just take off the end of the URL, from "pubhtml" onward

Ugh sorry. My summer has been incredibly busy with work compared to typical summers. I will try and do it this weekend, and if not the weekend after (since my program is done next Friday).
