lmfao do people really count soda fountain as an amenity? That $1 per day perk...
Are there firms that don't have free coffee soda and shit in a break room?

Re: Law Firms' Amenities
I haven't heard first-hand of any that match, but I'm sure there are some. The place where I interned this summer doesn't match, but two or three percent of your pay automatically goes into your 401(k). It's your own money they're depositing, but there is a slight advantage in that it counts as an employer contribution, so it doesn't count against your $18,000/year personal contribution limit.Winter is Coming wrote:Yeah haha but the issue is that almost no firms match, so its usually not a choice.instride91 wrote:It seems pretty ridiculous that many firms don't match. If you make $160k and Firm A matches 5% while Firm B doesn't match, isn't that an $8k difference in pay?

Fenwick stocks Mexican Coca-Cola in the video game room (XBOne, Wii U), next to the Miss Pac-Man arcade game.

The firm I SA'd at didn't have any perks. The most egregious thing to me was that they made everyone (well, SAs, associates, and staff, no clue about partners) pay for their own parking. Everyone drives there - it's not a city where you can take a subway or bike or something. It also bothered me that there was no 401K matching but I don't think that particular issue is at all unique to my firm.
