Before getting this e-mail indicating that these firms would take on additional interviews, K&E was the only interview I got through the fair. This might be reading too much into it, but would it be reasonable to assume that I was preselected by K&E rather than lottery choice? Granted, I ranked them #1, so it could definitely be a lottery, but it's always nice to know going in if I was a preselect. I'm thinking this because I would assume K&E would have been bid on by enough people to have no more slots left. It's a stretch, I know.

How does this happen by the way? How does this guy get a K&E interview, but it's their only interview? (on top of it being perhaps the sole K&E interview we know about).

Actually, no one said anything about hearing back about additional interviews, and if you meant to in your previous post then you should have said so instead of saying nonsensical things and not contributing to the thread by being clear. If you got one, congrats. If not, I have no clue why you are posting. But seriously, you need to chill out.

Seeing as everyone has been calling them additional interview requests, maybe you should have said "my request was accepted," or "I heard back for additional interviews." It's perfectly reasonable to read what you said as meaning students have sent requests out for interviews. Even more reasonable when you followed it up by saying maybe they are rolling decisions. Maybe you should spend more time thinking about what you write and how other people will interpret it - that is basically what the profession you are trying to enter is all about. Clarity and specificity will go a long way to helping you out.

But anyways, thanks for clearing that up politely. Hopefully they are rolling.

Anyways, enough bickering back and forth. I can confirm two things in addition to what fruitlobber has confirmed. Additional interviews are being processed and (1) they are being processed on a rolling basis, and (2) K&E was full before they got to me.

I might be going depending on if I get back into Chicago early enough. I think we can register for the job fair at the reception too, which might speed things up on the day of

Not beneficial for me last year but the food was decent. Very beneficial was the breakfast the next day. I scored a screener for later in the day with an attorney that I chatted up (breakfast food itself was not good, though).

That's pretty awesome. Did you know if it was for a firm that had a full schedule (i.e. they penciled you into lunch or after all interviews) or did they just have an empty spot?

Two firms were randomly added to my schedule last night, and I didn't see the emails until just now (they had a deadline of 12pm CST today to confirm the addition to my schedule). I originally had bid on one of these firms, and did not request either to be added during the additional interview requests. I'm guessing some people dropped out or something.

Pretty happy now, went from 2 interviews to 5!

MVP anon from above. I didn't put my GPA on my resume. I honestly think it would have helped to have it on there even though it isn't super high. Firms may have dinged me for pre-selects because I didn't have a GPA listed and others did.

Quick tip. Find a company where their employers travel a lot. Say you work for that company when you call in to reserve. Save loads of money for corporate discounts. Also, better rooms
