From the email sent today: "If you have been chosen as an alternate candidate, you will be able to log in and accept interview invitations starting Tuesday, July 8 at 12:00 AM Pacific Time. Please note that interview slots are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you have until Monday, July 14 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time to accept your invitation(s)."

Source? (seriously? why the hell would anyone lie about this?)

Also my two most important interviews are 5 minutes apart from each other. God damn.
Coworker forwarded response from BADCF coordinator. Not sure if interviews are scheduled close together on purpose. All of mine are in the afternoon, rooms 10's to 40's; bringing flats for the stairs
Anon poster who asked for a source here. I asked for a source because it directly conflicts with the quote from the e-mail I posted directly above. Given your source and given the e-mail it appears that alternates will be awarded to those with an open time slot (i.e., no conflicts with firm's open interview slot(s)) on a first come, first serve basis. I'm assuming, of course.

I have four interviews, none from the lottery. The first three are all five minutes apart, on different floors. Shit.

Would you all recommend dropping one? I don't want to end up late and risk botching them all.

I'm down for that. More worried about if one runs over, or if the last one started late, etc.

1L's always talk big until they strike out. Unless you're URM (AA or NA), top 20% at a T14, or top 30% at Boalt, I wouldn't laugh at any job in the Bay Area if I were you. If you are URM (AA or NA), top 20% at a T14, or top 30% at Boalt, try to remember other people aren't.

Being in the Bay doesn't make it any less shitlaw. I was just asking a question, but thanks for the condescending tone.

no, it's just a smaller firm paying ~100k-130k. still defense and still good money. 130k goes farther in the bay area than 160k does in nyc.

I've been preselected by a firm in which my cover letter said I was interested in labor and employment. Is it important for me to say that I'm interested in the same thing during my interview? Or can I also say I'm interested in general lit? I ask bc I realized afterwards their general lit practice is much bigger than the l&e group
