Personally, as someone with a "3.8+," I have not found this to be the case whatsoever. I maxed out screeners in both NYC and DC, but my callbacks have not been nearly as prolific. My experience is that firms like Skadden, Cleary, S&C, etc. are only taking the very top - people very close to 4.0s. I'd be happy with a Hogan cb to be honest, and am very pleased to have the cbs that I do. I know I won't be getting anywhere close to 20.KidStuddi wrote:Their problem is they'll only go after candidates they can't realistically get. I have a 4.0 friend. They're basically in your boat, but with traction at about 1 elite firm. And they're either diverse/IP.Anonymous User wrote:Personally, as someone with a "3.8+," I have not found this to be the case whatsoever. THe only callback from Pillsbury DC I've seen across TLS is in the Northwestern OCI. I'm still hopeful (one of my few strains left). Can anyone crush it?Anonymous User wrote:Anything from MLB DC, PIllsbury DC, Winston DC?

Uh, well: I guess your experience may vary? Idk? Maybe times have changed? I think I got a screener out of every single bid I submitted and, per GW's dumb rule, I had to attend every last one of them. Didn't I read something about a cap on the number of screeners this year? Maybe that contributed to differences in volume? I can obviously only speak directly to my experiences and what I heard from other people that I kept running into at callbacks / on trains to NYC, but they all expressed similar strings of success. GW definitely used to be feast or famine, but maybe they've found a way to fix that and spread things around more evenly.Anonymous User wrote:I have a 4.0 friend. Screeners are capped at 20 for DC and 15 for NY. I know many people who hit the caps but who are not receiving nearly as many callbacks. It seems that screeners are less likely to turn into cbs this year compared to in the past.KidStuddi wrote:Uh, well: I guess your experience may vary? Idk? Maybe times have changed? Wonder to what degree that'll show up in our class's employment numbers when it's all said and done.Screeners are capped at 20 for DC and 15 for NY. I know many people who hit the caps but who are not receiving nearly as many callbacks. It seems that screeners are less likely to turn into cbs this year compared to in the past.

Re: GW OCI 2014 - Meh?
It could go either way but there is a problem with the 20 interview cap. Everyone who got 20 interviews tended to choose the same 20 firms to interview with (the 20 best) and unlike in past years they can't fall back on the less competitive firms as a safety when they realize hogan and Cromwell isn't happening. On the other side, weaker students have gotten more interviews, but being one of them, it seems like the firms are just not calling back as many people. There are plenty of desperate GTown students above median looking for a job

Re: GW OCI 2014 - Meh?
I think that firms want to call so few back from gw, but theyre used to having at least one 3.8+ on their schedule to give it to. That isnt the case anymore, and J bet they either are giving no callbacks, or very few. I bet that there are some 3.8+s who bid and accepted interviews stupidly that got wrecked.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
