How receptive are the firms coming to OCI of you interviewing before OCI? Some obviously are down for it, but I am wondering how big your sample is. Did you mail a lot of the firms coming to OCI?

I found the farther away a firm is physically from Durham the more willing they are to give you an interview before OCI.

Do resume collect applications go out immediately (as soon as you hit 'apply'), or are they sent on the deadlines?

I think they go at the deadline since you can change what resume to attach, for example.

Anyone else's career counsellor fail to respond to their draft bid list? I submitted a week before the deadline and followed up last week. Never got a response.

Mine responded and I had a little back and forth about the list. Having said that, I don't know if the advice I received was very helpful.
Also, what firms do people think need to be bid top 5 to secure a screener?

Are people making any final changes to their bid lists? I am debating whether to move Proskauer NYC into the top 5

Anyone have insight into how high one has to bid Houston firms to guarantee a screener/at what slot people missed out on them last year?

For those who bid primarily DC and a few big NY last year how many screeners did you get?

You almost certainly won't get Proskauer if you don't bid them up there. They are wildly popular.Anonymous User wrote:Are people making any final changes to their bid lists? I am debating whether to move Proskauer NYC into the top 5

When does everybody think we will hear which interviews we were selected for via the lottery?

I thought it was noon. What do people historically get on the first draw?

Sorry, I'm on the West Coast and forgot the world doesn't revolve around us. I was told 15-17 was the number to expect.

It just annoys me to read people complaining that CPDC is useless when the majority of their questions are answered in CPDC communications or are easily gleaned from career counselors. Anyway, don't forget that opt in also starts on Weds., there's a resume collect deadline Friday, and open signups are first come first served starting Saturday at noon.

So the career center gives themselves two days to cook the bidlists so that they maximize their employment numbers? Seems like the bidding process could be done with the click of a button by running the lottery.

Interesting to see what firms still have interview slots remaining. Kicking myself because one of the firms in my top 5 has a 1 in the estimated slots column.

You'll just have to snag that spot! The irritating thing is the firms that are geared for medianish students will have classes of like 20 but then the Cleary's will have classes of 100. Too bad the decent firms have smallish class sizes, makes me nervous about my bid listAnonymous User wrote:Interesting to see what firms still have interview slots remaining. I meant that I bid them in my top 5, and I regret doing so because I misjudged how popular they would be. If they have an interview slot remaining they must not be as popular. I could have bid then lower.
I guess we'll see what happens. I'll be really confused if I log in tomorrow and I don't have a screener with them.
