Lavender Law question - it's 2-3 weeks after my school's OCI program. Are we allowed to secure screeners for firms we would've already interviewed with?
Is it sort of like a second chance?

I wouldn't try to interview with a firm that rejected me after a screener. If it's for a different office, that's another story.Anonymous User wrote:Lavender Law question - it's 2-3 weeks after my school's OCI program. Anyone going to any NBLSA of career fairs? I apologize for not adding it to my OP but it took a while for me to get info regarding signing up.

Well fuck. Anyone else doing RMDLCF? Or I guess any other career fair? I got 10 firms, but there are only 9 interview slots. I managed to fit six in there, but the slots are all back-to-back and I don't want to do more than that. Anyone have experience with this? Do the interviews run late? I guess I shouldn't try to fit in more interviews?

Nice haul. I only got two pre-selects and two alternates. I figure that with at least two interviews and possibly more it'll be worth the plane ticket out there though, since Denver is my preferred market.Robb wrote:Well fuck. Anyone else doing RMDLCF? For sure, if Denver is your preferred market definitely worth it. It's my preferred market as well-are you from there? Just wondering because I have met very few people who want to work in Denver (which is surprising, because it is such a great city). FYI All the firms I can see except Ballard Spahr seem to not have all of their interview slots filled so hopefully your alternates will prove fruitful, too.PBateman1 wrote:Nice haul. When do you find out if you have been selected to interview? During the pre-select sign-up time period? Or do you find out you have been pre-selected before that?

Re: 2014 Diversity Career Fairs
I'm not sure if it was necessary, but I stayed up until last night to ensure I got my alternates, so now I have four interviews. I don't have strong ties to Denver, so I'm going to have to come up with some kind of narrative. I visit Colorado at least once a year for a ski trip, and my best friend lives in the Springs. I just really want to live there, so I hope I can convey that to the firms even though I don't have the "traditional" ties to a particular region.Robb wrote:For sure, if Denver is your preferred market definitely worth it. So I visit the Vault/MCCA site today to find this:

Not a single email or notification of any kind. Gee I'm glad I skipped registration for another job fair that same day in anticipation of this.
What a fucking shit show.

If anyone's going to Dupont LA on Friday, I have a four-star hotel room I can split for 80$ each. I'm male. We can also split cab fares to McGuire woods. Let me know!

Anyone else attending 2014 NEBLSA on August 8 @ New York Law School?
There's been some movement on bidding results in the last 24 hours. If all sorts out, I'll fly in and get a room for a few nights. If anyone is interested in sharing a room send me a PM.

Re: 2014 Diversity Career Fairs
Anyone attending the Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference this Friday (Aug. 1st)? Or know anything about the Minneapolis market?
Interviewing with 7: Faegre, Dorsey, Robins, Fredrikson, Briggs, Lindquist, and Stinson Leonard Street. Inside info on any? I'm targeting litigation - potentially patent litigation. Based on what I've heard, Faegre and Robins are the best places in the area to start a career, but I'd appreciate any other input. Feel free to PM as well. I'm planning to live in the area after graduating.

Attending the neblsa job fair, I applied to two, one accept but the other still says pending, not decline, so I wonder what that means

Two of mine also say pending. It would be great to know soon so I could plan to spend the weekend in NY.Anonymous User wrote:Attending the neblsa job fair, I applied to two, one accept but the other still says pending, not decline, so I wonder what that means

For those of you who had interviews in July, have you heard back from any firms yet? Specifically Bay Area Diversity Fair and the Rocky Mountain ones. Anyone have any sense of the call back timeline?

Also, did anyone end up going to KC diversity this past week? Have you heard from anyone? There's gotta be at least 1 other person there on here.
