Even if it's marginally higher, it will probably only be higher at the mid-senior level.

So, if pre-'08 bonuses were around $35k, what are they now?

Very surprised. I'm guessing next Monday, then? Or later?

Has Cravath ever announced in December before? I'm pretty sure that would be unprecedentedly late.

Last year was the last Monday in November. Don't feel like data mining the ATL site for earlier dates, 'doe.

A non-Cravath firm should be bold and rush to put out their own in an attempt to be the trend-setting this year

I know it's usually around thanksgiving, but I feel like it's been in December before?

After spending my late afternoon at the DMV in herald square today, I had been really looking forward to bonus news. :-(

Book an appointment - I had a transaction that took me literally 19 minutes from walking in to being done as a result. I was shocked.

Duly noted. I derped hard and didn't check the expiration date on my passport (exchanging OOS driver license for NY), so I have to go back anyway.

But TBF, it's been nice not being so busy at work recently, so ill take trips to the dmv and won't even complain...that much.

If not announced before Thanksgiving, it's bad news bears.

Too much risk for most firms. If you try to set the bar higher, like has been tried in the past, and no one follows, you just wasted $$

Honestly what on earth is the incentive to set the market anyway? None of the firms that could do it are exactly hurting for willing recruits.

Firms, particularly the ones in any danger of setting/shattering the market, habitually struggle with attrition/retention. Getting snot-nosed law students in the door is one thing, keeping them (or at least the worthwhile ones) more than a year is another.

I suspect cravath likes setting the market so that they don't have to match what other MARkET SHATTERing firms do. If you are later you aren't setting the market you are failing to meet the market. Other firms just don't want to overpay.
