I was emailed. Rejected literally one day after reference calls. No big deal here, I've already got an offer I was going to take regardless.ajax adonis wrote:How did you guys find out about the rejections.

Also rejected from Manhattan by e-mail, but after a panel. (References were called, got the panel, then rejected). It was definitely the worst of my panel interviews so far, so even though I really wanted DANY I kind of knew it wouldn't happen.

Re: 2013 NY DA Offices
Manhattan offered starting positions to at least 2 people in the past couple of weeks. There are a number of other individuals who have 4th round interviews lined up. They said they are hiring a smaller starting class this year (somewhere between 25-35). Good luck to those of you still waiting!

How long ago did you interview with Manhattan before you got your rejection?

I had my first interview at the beginning of October, and then had my panel the first week of November, and rejection came yesterday.Anonymous User wrote:How long ago did you interview with Manhattan before you got your rejection?

I also received an offer from the Bronx. To the anonymous poster who also received an offer, did you accept right away or did you ask for time to decide?

Hi, feel free to send me a message I would love to talk to you more. I am the anonymous person who posted before saying I got an offer. When they offered it, they asked how long I wanted to give them an answer. So, I haven't given an answer yet but I will most likely accept. How about you?Anonymous User wrote:I also received an offer from the Bronx. To the anonymous poster who also received an offer, did you accept right away or did you ask for time to decide?

Anyone hear from Queens regarding 3rd round interview; and moreover, if you have heard when was your panel?

I know that for those who have already had a panel with the Bronx, at least if that panel was about 2 to 3 weeks ago, that offers have been made for 3rd rounds as to those individuals, and those who had 3rd rounds last thursday, that offers have been extended. That said, if you did obtain and have a 3rd round interview and have yet to hear anything, no news is still good news in my book

I heard from them the end of November about my executive interview and my panel was mid-October. It takes a while, so don't be discouraged.adamreel wrote:Anyone hear from Queens regarding 3rd round interview; and moreover, if you have heard when was your panel?

Some won't let you apply until later, but for most definitely apply in August. The earlier the better.

Re: 2013 NY DA Offices
Just got the rejection letter from the Kings County (Brooklyn) DA. I applied in September. Graduated from CCN with good (but not award-worthy) grades. Did Moot Court and Mock Trial. Had prosecution and defense internships. Have been clerking since graduating.
I didn't even get a first round interview with the KCDA. Am I wrong to be shocked? Anyone have any insight into the process there?

I also applied to Brooklyn DA in August (3L) - decent grades, T20, 2 excellent summer internships, mock trial, etc. Also rejected without a first round interview. Makes me wonder if they're maybe hiring a class of like 4 or 5 new attorneys?

Re: 2013 NY DA Offices
For what it's worth, it's not a great office to work in. I'd count yourself as lucky, and I don't mean that as a baseless insult. I know not one soul who is happy there.mmg3327 wrote:Just got the rejection letter from the Kings County (Brooklyn) DA. I applied in September.
