That would be very useful to them.
This was not appreciated nearly enough
Take a hint. Here's two more:

If they could take a hint they wouldn't be intent on joining the sinking legal profession.

I am posting anonymously because I don't want my firm's name to be brought up in any discussion. I am at a large law firm in the midwest so no connections to NYC. Please make sure that everything is in line for your health insurance. Maybe you can convince your firm to pay for 3-6 months of your premium as part of your severance package. A first year associate does not usually get much for severance but it is worth a shot. Work out the particulars on your reference letter- make sure it points to economic reasons and not performance issues. Many issues come at the one-year anniversary of employment that will cause firms to terminate employees (annual raise, 401k eligibility, health insurance premium renewals, can we hire better in next cycle, etc.). Only the best survive in this type of climate. Tell your husband to stay positive and active. Don't hide and feel ashamed, this is the time for networking. Don't be bitter or speak harshly about the law firm, the legal community is small even in NYC. This is not a rarity. This type of event happened frequently in "the good old days". Good luck to you-

Depressing thread, OP. Sorry about your hubby. I've always heard this firm was TTT.

Yep, from what I've read, not surprised at all. Have a friend who is summering there that is always posting on fb from the office at 2am. Screamer partners, bad financials and stability... recipe for NOPE.

Sadly just noticed they made it into my top 10 bids. No idea what I was thinking.

Can someone who knows pm me also? I'm not bidding for another 13 months, but I'd like to avoid bidding on this firm.

I think some posters in this thread have been trying to tell you which firm it is without actually posting its name.
