Well, my guess is career services screwed something up. This is a bit irritating, even though I probably wasn't going to end up in Chicago, I purposely bid K&E where I did based on the interview slots and I'm sure others did as well. I either would not have bid them and tried to get into another form or I would have bid them earlier. Idiots.Anonymous User wrote:So judging from Dave's email, K&E shit the bed when they received a stack of 160 resumes?splitmuch wrote:That's what 160 spots will do. Does Covington actually want a cover letter for a screener?

Ugh... Symplicity says so but I'm having trouble writing a CL for an interview I already have. It seems so strange and awkward.Flips88 wrote:Does Covington actually want a cover letter for a screener?

This was my thought, but I wasn't sure exactly what the protocol was. I gotta believe it takes most firms at least a day to figure shit out. I may just be speaking out of my ass here.homestyle28 wrote:Christ on a cracker, there are firms doing CBs already? Or is this just preemptive?Anonymous User wrote:any one hear from milbank?
Then again, from what I've seen on this board our class is notoriously impatient.

Some firms you will hear back from same day, others take a day or two, smaller markets can take a week or so. Usually same day offers are NYC firms that invite you to a reception/dinner that evening.Icculus wrote:This was my thought, but I wasn't sure exactly what the protocol was. Related note: set up a professional voice mail and don't answer your phone in or around the OCI area--it is really tacky.

Speaking of NYC firms, anyone know if Cravath did this? I'd rather know now than wait for a snail mail ding.D-hops wrote:Usually same day offers are NYC firms that invite you to a reception/dinner that evening.

Last year Cravath took a couple of days to give out callbacks. I think they went out over a weekend.

So has anyone actually been promoted from a wait list into an interview or is OCS just trolling us?

Thanks. Does anyone know which firms do this and which do not? There were a number of NYC firms interviewing today.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Speaking of NYC firms, anyone know if Cravath did this? ETA: I know S&C has a reception on the night of their interviews (Monday), but I'm pretty sure it is for everyone who did a screener.

IIRC last year Weil did one and at least one more NYC firm did it but I can't remember which one (not V10, I think).Anonymous User wrote:Thanks. Does anyone know which firms do this and which do not? Sullivan & Cromwell has a reception after their interview. Is that just open to all of their interviewees? Or the entire school?

Sorry if this has been covered but how long is the typical wait to hear about CB? Did anyone hear from Mayer or Winston?

Pretty sure that Chicago takes at least a few days. I think the earliest I heard about expecting CB offers was Friday (from any firm in any market, not just Chicago).Anonymous User wrote:Sorry if this has been covered but how long is the typical wait to hear about CB?
