Re: Connecticut firms?
Anyone else feel like the competition in CT was real strong this year? I know Shipman had like 30-40 CBs for only 3 spots. Does anyone know if midlaw in CT hires 3Ls or is that an even bleaker prospect?

Re: Connecticut firms?
I'm hoping that since 2L hiring seemed pretty conservative this season, there will be an uptick in demand for entry levels next year. I'm also hoping that the State of Connecticut gets it's finances together by 2013 so some state govt jobs might open up! I guess that's all we can do for now; hope.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone else feel like the competition in CT was real strong this year? I know Shipman had like 30-40 CBs for only 3 spots. Re: Connecticut firms?
I think that 30-40 CBs for 3 spots at S&G is stretching it... I think it was closer to 20-30. And I wouldn't be surprised if they were looking for 3-4, depending on the pool of applicants; but if they were looking for more like 4 then perhaps 30-40 was more their range.
But more than 10 CBs for each spot is (IMO and from what I've heard from admissions and previous hiring committee members at S&G) a waste of time and money for the firm.

If you don't mind me asking, when was your callback and how were you dinged (snail mail or email)?

Any other reports of Halloran offers? According to NALP they're looking for 3 of us...

What school did that offer come from that you heard about for H&S?

The poster said s/he knew someone from "another CT school." Since most of the posters on here are from UConn, and the only other CT school that Halloran visits for OCI is Quinnipiac, I assumed s/he meant Quinnipiac.Anonymous User wrote:What school did that offer come from that you heard about for H&S?

Did you have a CB?Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:I know someone from another CT school who got a Halloran offer this week.I really liked them.
Did anyone that actually have a CB from Halloran hear from them? (not to be rude, but no friend of friends or I heard)

Re: Connecticut firms?
FWIW, I haven't heard anything, except that nobody else has heard anything yet either. That one post in this thread is the first news I have heard about h&s. I'm at uconn, had a CB about a month ago. (I'm the frown-face poster you quoted- I was sad to hear that offers have gone out.)Anonymous User wrote:Did you have a CB?Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:I know someone from another CT school who got a Halloran offer this week.I really liked them.

I'm in precisely the same boat as you (Uconn, CB a few weeks ago, and haven't heard anything).

So are any R&R offers substantiated and have they concluded? I had a call back about a month ago and have not heard a word. Did my letter get lodged in the mailman's car seats?

Had R&R CB also, no word yet here (and no mention of any offers on this forum).Anonymous User wrote:So are any R&R offers substantiated and have they concluded? I had a call back about a month ago and have not heard a word. Did my letter get lodged in the mailman's car seats?
Based on the way that firm seems to generally operate, I didn't expect any quick decisions.
