No. Like Ms. Cleo, the Recruiting Director could sense my impending anxiety about the decision making process.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Because Recruiting explicitly told me.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:
They don't make decisions until after the cocktail/dinner on Wednesday night.
How do you know that?
You asked?
...yes, I asked. There's no harm in asking about Recruiting's timeline.

Re: Columbia EIP 2010 Callbacks Thread
Try not to worry. First off, if Schulte made an offer to someone, it would probably make it onto this board - if TLS is any indication, law students are clearly not big on confidentiality at this stage. But also, it's early in the callback season, and a lot of firms' Hiring Committees are only just beginning to meet this week or next.Anonymous User wrote:I mean, I thought that might be a reasonable assumption (about not making any decisions before the dinner), but when I heard that Fried Frank had a similar situation last year and had made offers before the dinner that it wasn't out of the question for firms to do this. They also might just be 'saying that' and telling the people with the offers to keep their mouths shut.Anonymous User wrote:No. Like Ms. Cleo, the Recruiting Director could sense my impending anxiety about the decision making process.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:

Anyway, see you at the dinner, bro.

Hmm. So how badly does it hurt you if you had a callback with Schulte but aren't attending the dinner?

Eh... don't want to out myself, but I'll just say it's a real compelling reason.

Schulte told me some decisions might go out before the dinner, but I'm not sure I believe them.

You heard this from an associate, a partner, or legal recruiting? And, why would you not believe them?

Lame law students. That guy still has to answer what level in the hierarchy was his source, though.

Why 30ish? Last year there were 18 CLS callbacks.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:I wonder how many people I will see at the Schulte dinner. Et, tu [Insert name]?
Probably 30ish CLS kids.

Re: Columbia EIP 2010 Callbacks Thread
For what it's worth, far fewer than you think. I had a callback there, originally planned on going to the dinner, but since then have received offers I'd rather take so there's no reason for me to go. I'm sure many people are in the same situation.Anonymous User wrote:Why 30ish? Seriously? What are you waiting for?
