I mean, I thought that might be a reasonable assumption (about not making any decisions before the dinner), but when I heard that Fried Frank had a similar situation last year and had made offers before the dinner that it wasn't out of the question for firms to do this. They also might just be 'saying that' and telling the people with the offers to keep their mouths shut.

Try not to worry. First off, if Schulte made an offer to someone, it would probably make it onto this board - if TLS is any indication, law students are clearly not big on confidentiality at this stage. But also, it's early in the callback season, and a lot of firms' Hiring Committees are only just beginning to meet this week or next.

Why 30ish? Last year there were 18 CLS callbacks.
For what it's worth, far fewer than you think. I had a callback there, originally planned on going to the dinner, but since then have received offers I'd rather take so there's no reason for me to go. I'm sure many people are in the same situation.
