Re: Suits (Clothing, not law)
I just got my shirts from tailor4less.com
Holy shit. They fit perfectly the first time. Granted, I was measuring a made to measure shirt, but fuck- I paid $60 for a 100% cotton made to measure shirt. I'd highly recommend it.

Thread count? Source of the cotton (E.g. Egyptian)? Did you have collar options?GodSpeed wrote:I just got my shirts from tailor4less.com

I'm taking your word Godspeed and buying a shirt, now I just need to figure out the difference between
1. straight and classic cut
2. bleached, immaculate, and polar shades of white

1. Its the bottom of the shirt. Get classic cut.delBarco wrote:I'm taking your word Godspeed and buying a shirt, now I just need to figure out the difference between

2. Immaculate isn't 100% cotton while the other two are 100%. I ordered bleached. I'm pretty happy with it.

Recruiting event tomorrow. Brought down the wrong suit to school. Go with the suit or charcoal slacks+shirt and tie?

Color+pinstripes. It's a darker charcoal/almost black (I can't remember I bought it so long ago). I just called my dad and asked him to bring by my other suit. He LOLed and told me to deal with it. The pants on the left are the charcoal slacks I was talking about. 3 button, kinda high but I never button the top (only middle).HenryKillinger wrote:Need a picture of the suit and an explanation of why it is the "wrong" suit i order to make a judgement.zettsscores40 wrote:Recruiting event tomorrow. Toss up, but I'd rock the suit. Take the jacket off if no one else is wearing one at the function.

I would rather be seen wearing an inappropriately pinstriped suit than be seen as not thinking the event warranted a jacket.

Thoughts on the Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue in black?
http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/pr ... ory=120552
I prefer them over the Park Avenue or Johnston and Murphy Melton but am wondering what the general TLS population thinks. I'm really more of a slip-on guy and my only oxfords need replacing.

Recruiting season, and it's amazing how many college kids are wearing flashy suits to their interviews.

I see them all the time on lawyers, professors, and students and it makes me think about Pufer insulting them and telling them how much they suck at life.zettsscores40 wrote:I saw some suits with button down collars today and immediately thought of this thread.Patriot1208 wrote:Recruiting season, and it's amazing how many college kids are wearing flashy suits to their interviews.

TBF, when i'm an actual lawyer i'm going to wearing tweed jackets and bowties. His aim for insulting the button downs is directed towards kids in school going to interviews. Not professionals.romothesavior wrote:I see them all the time on lawyers, professors, and students and it makes me think about Pufer insulting them and telling them how much they suck at life.zettsscores40 wrote:I saw some suits with button down collars today and immediately thought of this thread.Patriot1208 wrote:Recruiting season, and it's amazing how many college kids are wearing flashy suits to their interviews.

I think most professors purposely try to look disheveled at all moments in time to make us think they are working hard.romothesavior wrote:I see them all the time on lawyers, professors, and students and it makes me think about Pufer insulting them and telling them how much they suck at life.zettsscores40 wrote:I saw some suits with button down collars today and immediately thought of this thread.Patriot1208 wrote:Recruiting season, and it's amazing how many college kids are wearing flashy suits to their interviews.

Re: Suits (Clothing, not law)
What do you guys think of the "I am not too serious and I show it by smirking and make witty, fleeting references to everything wearing either a baseball cap or Converse All-Stars with my suit" look. I usually wear the All-Stars (red) but would also wearing a fitted baseball cap be too much? I was thinking of something obscure just to show how random but well-rounded am. Washington Senators, Dayton Marcos, etc.?

I normally hate the sneaker-suit combo, but If forced, I would say Converse with suits are played out. Adidas Superstars FTW:M20009 wrote:What do you guys think of the "I am not too serious and I show it by smirking and make witty, fleeting references to everything wearing either a baseball cap or Converse All-Stars with my suit" look. They're wider so depending on how long you wear your pants, they should sit around the shoe quite nicely.

These are the people whose resumes are at the top of the pile. Make sure you have grow your hair long and curly so you have some rad wings sticking out from under the cap.M20009 wrote:What do you guys think of the "I am not too serious and I show it by smirking and make witty, fleeting references to everything wearing either a baseball cap or Converse All-Stars with my suit" look. Also, undo the top button of your shirt and have your tie loosened to show that hey, you're ready for business but also ready to party like people in suits like to party.
Don't wear a baseball cap though, wear either one of:

If you must go with a baseball type hat, go with:

Got my suit in. I'm extremely happy with it for the price. It fits way better than off the rack, but the shoulders are about 1/4" too big (still miles ahead of OTR). Material is fantastic. I have working sleeve buttons. I paid $300 for it. Awesome.GodSpeed wrote:I just got my shirts from tailor4less.com
Holy shit. They fit perfectly the first time. Granted, I was measuring a made to measure shirt, but fuck- I paid $60 for a 100% cotton made to measure shirt. I'd highly recommend it.

That site looks pretty cool. The firm I will be working at next summer is business casual so I need to get some new clothes. I was hoping to find wrinkle free shirts though. hmmGodSpeed wrote:Got my suit in. I'm extremely happy with it for the price.
