ITT No one should be telling their classmates they are not going to get a job.

Especially someone who has a pretty good chance at getting a job. If you convert on half your alternates, which is likely from what I've seen, then go through the lottery, you're definitely going to have double digit interviews and maybe around 15. Plus mass mail, local firms you have ties too, etc. I know there was some top 1/4 panic in the thread earlier, but I'll reiterate, I really think that demographic can do well.A Swift wrote:ITT No one should be telling their classmates they are not going to get a job.PM61 wrote:Probably not.Anonymous User wrote:Top 1/4 bid mostly NYC, received less than 5 preselects and more than 10 alternates. I got the email at 4:30. It says that I have until noon tomorrow, which has not yet passed. Also, I had 7 alternates and converted 5 of them to interviews, so if anyone out there's got a buttload of alternates, keep my story in mind.Anonymous User wrote:I feel bad for the people who slept in past noon, which i was reeeeally close to doing myself.Anonymous User wrote:+1Anonymous User wrote:Received an email from KD at 5:30 asking me to choose which alternates/preselects to keep.

I might contact him in a hurry, that sounds like a typo on his part. My guess: he sent that at 4:30am before he went to sleep, and when he said noon tomorrow he meant noon today.Anonymous User wrote:I got the email at 4:30. I'm contacting him ASAP, but I think giving me until noon on a Saturday would be slightly unreasonable. I woke up at 1140 and didn't check my email until just now.Anonymous User wrote:I might contact him in a hurry, that sounds like a typo on his part. Lol @ a noon deadline being unreasonable. KD specifically said in his email prior to this stage that he would need you to respond quickly to make a decision if he contacted you.Anonymous User wrote:I'm contacting him ASAP, but I think giving me until noon on a Saturday would be slightly unreasonable. That's why I qualified it with a "slightly." People are still working jobs, and it's not uncommon to sleep in past noon on a Saturday.5ky wrote:Lol @ a noon deadline being unreasonable. I'm confused. Were you just asking a rhetorical question and looking for people to reassure you that you'll get a job?A Swift wrote:Fuck off.badwithpseudonyms wrote:Probably not.Anonymous User wrote:Top 1/4 bid mostly NYC, received less than 5 preselects and more than 10 alternates. That's retarded. You know that you should be expecting a call/e-mail at anytime that weekend. Be up at a reasonable time (and in no legal market/position does noon count as "reasonable").

Chill, dawg. I already responded and got my preselect dropped in time for the lottery. Per the wording, he'd given me a full day to think it over, not the 7.5 hours it was assumed I'd get.SweetnessUVA wrote:That's retarded. Based on this, and the fact he sent emails at 5:30 am with the correct wording indicates to me that KD slept for 1 hour last night.Anonymous User wrote:Chill, dawg. based on the amount of coffee he drank during my half hour meeting with him this week i don't think he's slept for more than 1 hour in the past week. this time of the year has to be awful for him.5ky wrote:Based on this, and the fact he sent emails at 5:30 am with the correct wording indicates to me that KD slept for 1 hour last night.Anonymous User wrote:Chill, dawg. For those who have already received alternates:
Did you receive the alternates because you already have the max number of pre-selects? Or have all alternates been released? Sorry for my ignorance.

Re: UVa OGI 2011 thread
You were only contacted about alternates if your number of preselects accepted + alternates that turned into preselects went over 20. So if you had something like 13 preselects and 10 alternates, and you didn't hear from KD, it's probably safe to say that you converted 7 or fewer of those alternates into preselects.mighttransfer wrote:For those who have already received alternates:

I think midnight could be a possibility as well, given that's when the initial preselects were released.fouronthe4loor wrote:Sometime tomorrow.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know when the final list is going up on symplicity?
