Did they cover your travel expenses for the CB? If so, good bet they will cover your travel again. My firm sent out a general email about some SA details and mentioned that travel expenses were covered and to call the travel agency to book the flights.

Just ask HR if you're not sure.

There isn't one. Say you're their third choice. They'll offer you if and only if both people before you decline. Each of those people has two weeks to do so, probably, so it could be up to that or less before it's back on the firm to act. Then they might reconsider their order of people, then do the same thing with the next person, then you. So it could be quite a while.

What's the opinion on on sending a thank you email ~48 hrs after an interview? I've been interviewing at bigger firms and feeling like they are a little cheesy/awk/irrelevant but after thinking about the culture of a smaller firm I interviewed at this week I feel like it might be more fitting. Is it ok to send one 2 days after an interview or better not to send at all or just not really a big deal either way? Would appreciate any thoughts

I agree with this but I'll offer my limited experience hearing rejections from big to mid sized firms that they came in at about three weeks post CB.

I would send a follow-up after two weeks. Don't be discouraged, a lot of firms wait to interview everyone before making decisions.
