Looks like not many callbacks are going out over the weekend except for Cravath, STB and a couple others?

I am starting to worry. Can someone please allay my fears by answering these questions (also for the benefit of everyone else!):
(1) If a firm (e.g. Cravath) has given out callbacks today, does it mean that if I don't get a call I am out? How do firms decide who to call back first?
(2) Approximately when do most of the V10-20 firms give call-backs? Assuming we have just had 2 days of EIP

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
1. It's interviewer-dependent way more than firm-dependent. Different interviewers from the same firm may go out on different days. However, an interviewer typically does all their calls at once, so if your interviewer has given out CBs and you don't have one, you're likely out.Anonymous User wrote:I am starting to worry. 2. Impossible to say. Most callbacks seem to go out within two or three days, but some have been reported to take upwards of a couple weeks. That's why stressing out about this now is fairly pointless.

Question about callback to offer process. It looks like based on last year's data, some firms have a (substantially) higher callback-offer ratio than others (for example, Skadden's % is higher than Davis Polk's). Is this a consistent trend/strategy for firms, or does it change a lot based on the year?

Not OP, but just want to say thanks for chiming in from a more calm/experienced/rational perspective in this thread. I feel like all us 2Ls are making each other more anxious and it's good to keep grounded.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:1. It's interviewer-dependent way more than firm-dependent. It stays pretty consistent, but here is the data from 2012 and 2011 if you're curious.Anonymous User wrote:Question about callback to offer process. Re: Columbia EIP 2014
All of this, except it's not a given that an interviewer does all their calls at once (or even all on the same day, though it's probably rare that they'd not)—an example from last year's thread was someone who made one call, but then had to do a few hours of work before they had time to do more. I think they try to do one big call block, but they're busy people.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:1. It's interviewer-dependent way more than firm-dependent. Re: Columbia EIP 2014
I was wondering about different offices/different interviewers. Is it usual for the same interviewers for the same office to call back on different days? Also, is it usual for different office locations for the same firm to take longer than others?

Just had to schedule a CB that conflicts with another (legitimately had no option). Can anyone give me some input on the best way to go about getting a reschedule from the first firm?

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
Just call the recruiting department at the first firm on Monday and let them know you need to re-schedule. Doubt it will be a problem this far out.Anonymous User wrote:Just had to schedule a CB that conflicts with another (legitimately had no option).
