Is there any way to get an accurate measurement of offers? Do you think Career Services will publish their estimates?

Got two more dings this weekend which means I'm out as far as OCI interviews go. Top 40% I'd guess. Should have gone to Cornell.

From what I've heard from OCS and others, rough statistics place this year at better than last. Don't have the percentage estimates off the top of my head, but definitely more.

I think you're talking about 35-40% at least. OCS isn't the best at gathering such information, but there should be a survey on Symplicity at some point I think.

That was my point exactly. No way do they contact the firms directly. What would that even show? Many of the offers from different firms would be going to the same person. My opinion is that OCS is essentially useless.

A large majority of people that I know that participated in EIW have offers. Mostly NYC and DC. From my (purely anecdotal) vantage point, we did very well this year. The few people that I know that totally struck out targeted other markets.

Also, frankly, we have some awkward people at our school. I can only imagine that they would fare poorly in interviews irrespective of their grades or school.

+1. I know a 3L who did quite well at EIW last year (top 10% and multiple V10 offers) who said OCS told his/her c/o 2012 that ~ 33% got SA positions through EIW. Anecdotally, I also get the impression that people targeting NYC did quite well, and that top 20-25% or so did fine in DC too. Pure guestimation, but I'd put our EIW success rate just at or just under 40%.

I think reading Above the Law has taught everyone a valuable lesson about listening to OCS numbers.

If you're talking about the admissions jobs for the full-time employment numbers, it seems like they'd have a harder time doing that for EIW results...

If you're talking about the admissions jobs for the full-time employment numbers, it seems like they'd have a harder time doing that for EIW results...

They tend to count any law firm summer job obtained by a 2L as an "EIW result," regardless of whether or not it came out of EIW, another recruiting program, or your own outreach to the firms.
