Dinged from my only callback at this point. Feeling extremely disappointed. Any tips for someone feeling like they need to start from square one?

I think what helped me get over that first disappointment is that you have to realize how incredibly competitive 1L SAs can be. Just to have made it to a CB, you are ahead of 90% of your peers. These are unicorn jobs for most 1Ls. Also, hiring still isn't over, there may yet be hope, but if it doesn't work out, then you already have invaluable CB experience going into OCI.Anonymous User wrote:Dinged from my only callback at this point. I replied to a callback email with my availability and haven't received a confirmation / schedule / etc. It's still a while away, but what is the turnaround like for that?

Took me about 2 weeks to schedule one of my CBs with a V25. Sometimes wouldn't hear from them for 5-6 days at a time.Anonymous User wrote:I replied to a callback email with my availability and haven't received a confirmation / schedule / etc. It's still a while away, but what is the turnaround like for that?

It sure seems like half the people I know have at least one 1L SA lined up. Admittedly, this is skewed somewhat by the Texas market.Anonymous User wrote:I think what helped me get over that first disappointment is that you have to realize how incredibly competitive 1L SAs can be. Feels like that here too... ATL market, but most of the people I know either have connections or have strong grades.Anonymous User wrote:It sure seems like half the people I know have at least one 1L SA lined up. CDO says don't panic, there is still plenty of time. If it's April and you don't have anything lined up, then you can start to genuinely freak out.

Got an email a few weeks ago asking if I was still interested and if so to send grades. Haven't heard anything since.Anonymous User wrote:interested in hearing about this as well.Anonymous User wrote:Any movement at Jones Day (Chi)?

I know it's too late for this poster, but for anyone else in this situation: if you're sure you wouldn't accept an offer at a firm (e.g., if you've already accepted another offer as in this case), CANCEL THE CALLBACK!! I don't care if it's two minutes' notice. No firm and no attorney wants to interview you if there's no chance of your going there. They have better things to do with their time.Anonymous User wrote:Seems disingenuous since I already accepted another offer though? Its actually about 40 hours from now, but I wanted to wait for the offer letter to come in.Anonymous User wrote:I would go through with it. 20 hours is too short notice IMO.Anonymous User wrote:What is the minimum notice required before cancelling a callback? Is 20 hours before enough? Seems like a waste of all of our time if I went through with it.

Me and my friend both accepted offers there over the past 2 weeks. Callbacks were 1-4 weeks ago. Both at HYS, not diverse. I believe 4 people from my school had CBs there. They hinted that they were only recruiting from schools that they had OCIs at (H,S,UVA, GULC).

Re: 1L Summer Job Search C/O 2018
Anyone else feel like they took an early offer too quickly? I wasn't shooting for a 1L SA, but after accepting an offer with the state ACLU branch, I received interview offers with multiple state AG's offices, mid-level state appellate court, State environmental protection agency, State HHS, etc. I think I set my sights to low and psyched myself into thinking I had to take the first decent offer that came my way. Anyone else second guessing accepting an early offer? Am I over thinking this 1l summer? Would any of these other jobs given my resume a boost prestige wise?

What's "a lot?" I'm curious because I'm deciding whether to accept NYC Enforcement's offer, and being among good company might sway me. Apparently, they're hiring as many as thirty-two 1Ls for this summer.Anonymous User wrote:Yes- I accepted an offer about two weeks ago, and a lot of people (at least five that I know) from my school (CCN) have also gotten offers/accepted.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone hear from SEC Enforcement (New York)?

I know last year there were 7-10 people from my school. This year I know at least five who have offers or who have accepted, but there are probably more that I do not know about.Anonymous User wrote:What's "a lot?" Also curious about this. I had a screener last week, haven't heard anything since so guessing no CB. How long after screener did you hear about CB?Anonymous User wrote:How long was it from CB to offer for you?bobleman300 wrote:In re: Hogan DC
