I think it would be helpful if, instead of saying "X firm's offers are starting to go out," people just said "I got an offer from X firm." 'offers are starting to go out' makes it sound like all the offers are done.

anyway, moderately high gpa person here, jealous of you people posting about your gibson and paul weiss offers. they were my dream firms, but I didn't even get callbacks (I had very few), because my interviewing sucked. congrats.

got a post-cb rejection letter the other day that said "please contact us if you have any questions." lolwut?

lolwut? But I actually agree with what you're saying. It's anonymous, so there's no reason to try to be humble about getting an offer. A simple "I got an offer," or "I know someone who got an offer" works.

So I call a V10 firm today to withdraw from consideration after a CB earlier in the week. The lady on the phone is really nice and says she understands, but can I repeat my name so she can make sure she puts the note on the right file... Then she goes, "Oh yeah, I remember that name... I just addressed a letter to you today." Awkwarrrrd :D
