What does it mean if we haven't heard back from Weil even though other people have heard either way (i.e. some have CBs, some have dings)?

Re: Columbia EIP 2016
Assuming you're talking about big NY firms then that's probably fine as well, but obviously the sooner you respond to them the better. If you're talking about a firm in a secondary market that takes a small summer class then I would try not to wait as long.Anonymous User wrote:Pretty sure it's fine to call 3-4 days later, no?pa1901 wrote:Definitely fine to call the next morning.Anonymous User wrote:If a firm leaves a cb voicemail, is it okay to call and schedule the next morning? I need to wait to hear back from another firm about scheduling before scheduling this one.
If it matters, they called me at about 3:30pm so it's not like there's that much time to get back to them before their recruiting department leaves for the day.

What's the point of this question? Prep for the callbacks and mass mail hard.Anonymous User wrote:Only 2 CB's here, still waiting on like 15 firms (some non-NY)... How fucked am I?

Re: Columbia EIP 2016
Where is your CB from? You should prep HARD, and check the CB --> offer percentage on the EIP website.Anonymous User wrote:Please I need advice.
I had 20 interviews. Had the following dings by now...
Wachtell
Cravath
Simpson
Weil
Shearman
Paul Weiss
Mcdermott
Sidley
That's 8 dings and the rest on hold. I have just 1 callback with a firm outside v100. I don't know what happened. I have mid stone grades. Is this normal? Should I be happy with my 1 callback?

What does it mean if we haven't heard back from Weil even though other people have heard either way (i.e. CBs, multiple rounds of dings)?

Oof. Not good. That sounds like it might be an ultra ding. It's probably taking so long because they're still crafting the rejection letter. Stay strong.Anonymous User wrote:What does it mean if we haven't heard back from Weil even though other people have heard either way (i.e. CBs, multiple rounds of dings)?

Not necessarily. It might just mean they forgot about OP. OP may have been so unremarkable that it's like they never even interviewed. Just one plausible explanation.Anonymous User wrote:Oof. Another is that you're not rejected yet but not called back yet. Also, check your spam filter.

I get that this is a tense environment, but jeez it's clearly just an attempt to lighten the mood a little. I don't think it was meant as personal attack...Anonymous User wrote:this. and you're not funnyAnonymous User wrote:Well, you two are rude. Re: Columbia EIP 2016
Maybe you're on some kind of alternate or waiting list, depending on who takes the CBs from their initial round? Not getting a ding when others are getting them (especially if others who interviewed with your interviewer) has to be at least somewhat positiveAnonymous User wrote:What does it mean if we haven't heard back from Weil even though other people have heard either way (i.e. CBs, multiple rounds of dings)?
