Any 2L/3Ls or graduates can comment on the following scenario:

Had an in-person interview with firm 3 weeks ago. I thought I nailed it.
Sent in my not-so-stellar grades 2 weeks ago.
No response since.

Is it safe to assume I'm out of the running?

Stats: URM, T14, WE

no. shouldnt really make a difference though, keep applying to shit until you have an offer in hand

USAO tomorrow, top choice firm CB friday. Let's hope something works out since apparently it is possible to strike out at pursuing PI.

No 1L should see a summer associate position as secure, expected or "gold," especially for non-diverse applicants with middling grades. Texas firms hire more frequently than others but its still a rarity and a crapshoot. 3 CBs is really strong with that profile. Bodes well for OCI

Is it common for a 1L summer job with a firm to end with an offer to come back 2L summer? Or is 1L summer employment usually just a one-off/standalone gig, and you should plan on having to apply at 2L OCI if you want to come back?

At the end of 1L SA, most of them will tell you if they want you back for 2L SA unless you has a bad time there and you want to try a different firm.
Remember, they REALLY want to and will TRY HARD to keep any good SA/Associate.

If you like your 1L firm and a full time offer after 2L summer looks to be in the cards then try to split with it and another firm 2nd summer if you also want to try a different firm

I wouldn't mess with full time employment

Just to tag onto this, anyone heard from any TCDIP firms?

Not sure if anyone has answered this yet. I know that some people have had interviews (likely screeners, but I'm not entirely sure) with Oppenheimer, Briggs, Stinson, gray plant mooty, Larson King (callback style, but unclear if it was actually a callback), Dorsey and Faegre. All of the ones after Oppenheimer have been for TCDIP (I don't know about the Oppenheimer one, it was likely TCDIP, but I'm not 100% sure so I don't want to rule anything out). Robins interviewed for their diversity position (not TCDIP), I think doing callbacks next week or so. gray plant mooty is trying to match the pace of other firms (or so I hear) so likely they will move pretty quickly, within 1-2 weeks for callbacks.

Hope this helps. I know being in the dark is really frustrating.

Had a firm call me Tuesday morning to set up interview. I missed the call because of class. Voicemail said they want to do an interview and I should respond to her email with my availability. I did that immediately.

I'm certain that I'm being anxious and overthinking...but how long is reasonable until she schedules me? I just like this firm and don't want to fall through some crack and be forgotten about.

Is this Skadden chicago? I heard they sent out interview requests Tuesday.
