I'm not sure about Ropes NY, but Ropes Boston is very desirable because it offers superior QOL + prestige of being best firm in the region + awesome exit options. Too bad they dinged me.Anonymous User wrote:As a quick aside: what's with all the interest in Ropes? Is it simply due to the latest Vault rankings (e.g. best firms to work for)?

Re: Offers Thread
I think they are having a lot of callbacks and still hiring, albeit less than normal, but comparatively more than other firms. There were 4 other students having callbacks the same morning I had mine. Plus I know 4 other friends from my school who has a CB there (I go to a T2 school). I'm referring to NY btwedcrane wrote:I'm not sure about Ropes NY, but Ropes Boston is very desirable because it offers superior QOL + prestige of being best firm in the region + awesome exit options. Ropes is having the same number of callbacks they would any other year. This is what a partner told me during a screening interview. He said they would "figure it out" (as to what their actual SA hiring numbers would be) afterwards the callbacks. Good luck.

Other than the prestige of the Boston office, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they hired all of their summers.Anonymous User wrote:As a quick aside: what's with all the interest in Ropes? Is it simply due to the latest Vault rankings (e.g. best firms to work for)?

Re: Offers Thread
have any firms dinged you after cbs by phone? I got a vm from a firm I cb'ed with last week - interviewer isn't in the office so I'm going to call him back tomorrow, but just curious if I should dread the phone call or look forward to it.
I know rejection letters after screening interviews were the norm, but what about after callbacks?

Re: Offers Thread
Is the SOP for offers/dings, offers = over the phone and dings = snail mail?
I interviewed at a firm on Tuesday and contacted them today, and they expect to wait at least a month before making offers. AWWWEEEESOME. I have no idea if they'll ding on a more rolling basis or if they'll wait until the end.

Snail mail is almost always bad news. But I did have a phone call last year after a callback telling me 'no thanks.'Anonymous User wrote:Is the SOP for offers/dings, offers = over the phone and dings = snail mail?
