Not that you need those experiences to say "Wow, that sounds awesome. I should add that to my list of places I want to go." I swear to god, 90% of the people on this forum have never spoken to another human being.
The fact that no one was talking about how to respond to such stories does suggest that you have, in fact, never talked to another human being. If you had, you would have been able to discern what was actually being discussed.
Did you read the person I quoted and was responding directly to (that you deleted after quoting) or nah?

Yes. Your response did not bear on what was actually being said. If you think this thread is about not knowing how to smile and nod, then you probably do not have anything to contribute.

Nobody cares about the "stress" of listening to rich people. They care about being judged for not having the same opportunities in life so they can relate. (Emphasis added.)

If you're in big law starting out you're not gonna have much time to travel. So most of this travel talk is either from partners, or people who grew up rich.
Are you being deliberately obtuse or are you drunk? Hoping it's the latter. But since my near-decade of work at various biglaw firms apparently makes me woefully unqualified to discuss social interactions at firms, I'll see myself out and leave you kiddos to discuss how awkward it is to have a firm pay for your dinner during recruiting so they can grind you into a fine dust in 18 months.

Please do, since this thread was never and is not about "social interactions at firms," and the very response you quoted had nothing to do with "social interactions" either. It is about internal feelings, not outward responses.
