Yeah and I have no idea if it is even worth mass mailing this late in the process. What practice area are you looking at? I feel like lit spots will be easier to come by, but that doesn't seem to be the case for those of us interested in transactional work..Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 10:19 pmI have no idea. Re: UT OCI 2021
Both CSO and Student Affairs have not been helpful at all. I nearly missed the MPRE registration deadline but luckily managed to sign up in time, but I know some 3L's who forgot to sign up because student affairs never sent out a reminder emailAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 9:50 amI was more interested in transactional, but I am open to anything, really. The lit boutiques in Houston and DFW are super intimidating, I don't really have the grades for them. I am looking to small markets where I could see myself living (like not in TX). Also looking at leaving law school. CSO really didn't prepare us for the non-OCI/biglaw/bigtex stuff, imo.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 12:37 amYeah and I have no idea if it is even worth mass mailing this late in the process. Re: UT OCI 2021
I think this thread was mainly for the January 2021 OCI and not the current August 2021 OCI. Though I guess I don't see a problem combining the two

Midlevel V20 associate, non-Texas market:
UT CSO is honestly not great at showing y'all the universe of opportunities that are available to you. I got my 1L summer biglaw position off of a mock interview, and 2L (and now current employer) by emailing all the UT grads I could find at major firms in my desired market. I did this at the end of July into early August and ended up completely skipping the OCI process. My grades were solid (~top 20%) but I found that the alums I reached out to were just excited to help guide people from Texas to the markets where grads are underrepresented. So don't assume OCI is the only path.

For August 2021 OCI - Anyone still waiting for responses from a lot of firms? Should I assume these are all dings?

Re: UT OCI 2021
I had 25 interviews. 2 callbacks and 1 rejection. Radio silence from the rest. I hope that they are just being slow, but it’s hard to tell. It seems like many that people do get CBs get the same/next day.

Did you just submit your resume and transcript to those grads or did you first set up networking phone calls?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 12:08 amMidlevel V20 associate, non-Texas market:

Radio silence for me across the board. The fact that I haven't even gotten a rejection is weird. I'm not sure if these are dings or if Texas just moves slower than NY.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 7:48 pmFor August 2021 OCI - Anyone still waiting for responses from a lot of firms? Does anyone have any insight into how fast Kirkland responds after CB? It's been almost two weeks after my cb with their Austin office

Re: UT OCI 2021
Did you reach out to the recruiting coordinator? I hate to get your hopes down but Kirkland typically makes offers soon after callbacks. Anything later than a week is a sign that it's a ding.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 4:30 pmDoes anyone have any insight into how fast Kirkland responds after CB?
