Are firms amenable to minority applicants from HLS that went from bottom of the class (straight Ps) to a 4.0 semester (don't know where this would put one in rank)? Just wondering whether "trading up" is worth it.
ETA: Particularly if you're looking to make the jump into the V50/DC Market? And also if classes aren't cake walks. I.e., took substantive black letter law courses.

As a recap of this thread, we've seen dings from Cravath, Davis Polk, Simpson Thacher, Paul Weiss, Cleary DC, Quinn NY, Covington, Gibson Dunn, Wilson Sosini, Dechert, Proskauer, and Knobbe Martens.
We've also seen screeners and callbacks for Cahill, Quinn, Pfizer, MoFo, Skadden NY, Loeb & Loeb, Hueston Hennigan. One Cahill offer reported here, and a post-CB ding for Quinn.
There's also been talk about public postings for Skadden NY, Kirkland NY/Boston/Chicago, MoFo NY, McGuire Woods Chicago and Jones Day Chicago.
