Is it safe to assume we are dinged by firms that are still pending after other firms on the same date have offered interviews? Has anybody been able to sign up for bay-area walk around interview spots? (MCGC).

And I think definitely mass mail firms you didn't get interviews at as long as you meet their cutoffs.

Tell your employer you must take these days off. Your (likely) unpaid internship is not worth missing this.

it's an SA I can't

One of the few disadvantages of an SA I guess, you can't interview until August at the earliest. Some people have offers already :-/

Yes you can, and should. Unless they've already given you an offer that you'd want to accept, you have to miss "work".

Yes you can, and should. Unless they've already given you an offer that you'd want to accept, you have to miss "work".

Closing dinner on the 28th, and final review/offer extended (if at all) on the 29th. I really don't think those dates can be missed.

For those of you reading this thread who are very, very picky about your target market and do not have top 5% grades, please reconsider and apply to NYC. Even with ties, I seriously doubt top 20% can reliably get biglaw in Texas, ATL, or DC or something.

What about suits? Should we bring a spare one as well?

Wrote "at least" to get the train of thought going...also more socks/pantyhose, copies of resume, etc.

I agree with bolded. Unless you have an offer already, you should not miss OCI/off campus programs.

Dear students,

We have received selection lists from all employers participating in the first day of our 2016 New York interview Program at the Doubletree Times Square New York on August 1st., except for Shearman & Sterling. The Symplicity system is open to students to sign-up for an interview on August 1st. Depending on employers' responses, we plan to open the interviews on August 2nd later today or tomorrow morning.

Please log in to the consortium SEMW website ( https://law-semw-csm.symplicity.com/students ) with your Username & Password, go to the "Interviews" section, select the "New York Interview Program 8/1/16-8/2/16" session from the drop-down menu, click the "Accept Preselect" button to the right of the employer name and follow the instructions to select an interview time. Please note that the interview times are selected on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please remember that the system will change the status “pending” to “not selected” only after all employers will have made their selections. If you were selected for an interview, your status indicates so. We will notify alternates about an opening when an interview slot becomes available which may not be until the day before the interview.

FWIW, I never received any email from MCGC or SEMW and got multiple screeners at both. I'm not sure how the determination of who gets an email is made.

Was that email sent yesterday or today? Only asking because that affects the timeline of August 2nd releases.

iirc I believe it just said the date (Aug 1 or Aug 2), not pending. Although I believe the firms that haven't released yet do say pending, like the Aug 2 firms.
