I will say this, with inside information -- there are a *ton* of STB offers currently outstanding, but relatively few acceptances as of yet. That's typical for this period--offer dinners and second looks are currently taking place--but it's also a time at which a lot of marginal candidates are being held back to see what the yield looks like. If STB starts to get 33% yield, then they're probably all but done giving offers except for a few to the late-interviewing schools (Chicago, Stanford). But, if they get more like a 20% yield, they'll start giving offers to a lot of people still dangling. They just had their NYU and Columbia offer dinners last week, and their Harvard offer dinner is tonight (plus other offer dinners ongoing at smaller schools). The yield picture will be much clearer by the end of the week, and if movement is going to come for those dangling, it will be late this week or early next week.
Just out of curiosity, if ppl start declining offers, would STB even consider those already dinged? Heard of some weird rumors about someone gets an offer weeks after receiving a rejection letter. I know I sound pathetic, but really into the firm
I don't see a reason for STB doing that... I'm really into them too mainly b/c of personality fit..

I'm sorry, but I think it's extremely unlikely. It would have to be a circumstance where they had a truly disastrously bad yield and couldn't possibly fill their class even with offering everyone still outstanding. They're hiring a (relatively) lot of people in 3L hiring this year, though (supposedly as many as 10-12), so all hope isn't lost for 3L hiring next year.

What's the standard ding language. I got something to the effect of "Didn't work out this time, but please apply as a 3L." Normal, or worth making a note of?

I understand this is a standard response not only from Simpson but from a bunch of other firms.

I think it's too early to say. My recruiter told me it could take longer than a week. There was at least one poster in this thread that received an offer 11 days after CB. Just hang in there.
