yes, typically they will be the first person you meet with.

Interesting...since the resume topic has been covered do you find this first part of the cb more casual or relaxing?

not sure why you find the resume having been covered relevant to this. anyhow, I'd view it as a greeting stage - i've done callbacks with a few firms that start you back with your screener for a shorter meeting. They greet you, and you have a conversation before meeting the next person... You haven't received an offer yet, so there is no reason you should treat any stage as anything other than an opportunity for them to evaluate you in some manner. Is it more relaxing? thats up to you, personally I find that it certainly can be as this is someone you have already established a connection with and obviously they liked you based on your previous 20 minutes with them.

i read the columbia rate was 40%, unfortunately. i probably won't even get to the CB stage to care. guess i'll know tomorrow given the quick turnaround. although my interviewer did say he/she needed to go to the hiring committee first. hopefully when you get your amazing offers i get a cb :D

no "official" cb yet for me either but the partner I interviewed with responded to my email saying I should be hearing good news soon... so I am hopeful that one is on the way. I want to crush this CB. I loved the individual I spoke with at Milbank -- it seems like the perfect combination of hard work and an excellent work place culture. I don't go to a top school so I am sure my chances are MUCH slimmer than 40%...

FWIW, I'm top 5% at a T90 and got an offer. Don't count yourself out!

Congratulations and thank you for this! I have similar stats from a T2 school. I want this so badly - it is all I can think about.

Yup, you go in to meet with the recruiting manager at the end, just to debrief and ask any questions you have, etc. Also it's an easy way for them to hand you off to the attorneys that are taking you to lunch, if you're doing that.

I couldn't do that bc of a prior scheduled CB in the afternoon with another firm. Do you think that kills my chances?
