I haven't heard anything, and I'm taking it as a sign that I'm probably not going to, unfortunately.

Also, to the person asking about State, I got an email from the committee that I wasn't selected to move forward.

Haven't heard back yet but I also think they said they don't make decisions until December or January.
So I know they don't make offers until then. But from past thread and candidates, my impression is that they eliminate candidates about once a month. Candidates would email and ask about their status and someone would tell them they were/weren't under consideration still/anymore. I was wondering if that had happened yet to this cycle...

I received a hand addressed and signed rejection letter from State (which I took as odd), but my friend has neither interviewed nor received a rejection letter at this point.
Same here (re: getting rejection letter).

I have read of that happening, but only if you called them and had a good reason for knowing if you're still under consideration (like you have an expiring job offer). I don't think I got a final rejection letter from them till May or so.

Out of curiosity, are you a student or a graduate? I'm only asking because the deadlines were different.

I have a HUD phone interview today, with Chicago attorneys, but I only applied to HQ - I was told by an alum/current HUD attorney that the regions do a lot of the interviewing and it doesn't matter where you want to ultimately end up. The region your school is in is who interviews you.

Hope this helps!

Alright, thanks. It looks like calls for the Midwest and Southwest regions have gone out (that we know from TLS).

I spoke to them this morning. They are working on getting schedule and travel times together. We should hear something next week. Should be fun going to Rockville during the last week's of school and final.

Congrats to those interviewing with the NRC. Just to confirm, this is for the NRC honors program or the clerkship program?

I hope we hear back soon, but I am not as hopeful bc the website reads:
The OGC Hiring Committee will conduct initial telephone interviews in October 2014. Successful candidates will be invited for in-person interviews at OGC headquarters in November 2014. Applicants are responsible for their own travel expenses, but DHS will arrange telephonic interviews for those candidates who cannot travel to Washington, D.C.

OGC will notify successful applicants on or around December 15, 2014. All hiring is conditional upon successful completion of a background check and receipt of at least a Secret-level security clearance. Successful applicants can expect to begin the program in early October 2015

To the anon above, you're not wrong re DHS, but this is a big dept. so its not surprising to me really that they could miss their own soft deadlines, plus last year people received their invites in mid Nov. (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 3&t=218436). There's still hope... I hope.

yeah it is a big department so hopefully good news come soon (this week fingers crossed). I'm not so sure on last year's deadlines bc of the shutdown.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
