Me again! Quick question, is it possible to withdraw still? There are 2 interviews for firms that aren't what I would go for, and I would rather open the way for an alternate instead?

I'm the OP of this. Just updating to say I went from 3 to 8 interviews, though I am declining one since I am interviewing with that firm outside of BLG.

Pretty happy - between BLG preselects and OCI, I am interviewing with almost every Boston firm I wanted to interview with =)

School: T14
Rank: Median
Ties to Boston: Undergrad
IP: Possibly (patbar eligible, no tech degree)
URM/Affiliation: Asian (Indian)

# of preselects: originally 3
# of alternates: originally 6
# of interviews: 8 (soon to be 7)

I believe the deadline is later today, so you can try calling or emailing.

I received more than 15 invitations, telling me I was invited to join BLG job fair, however,I ended up with no interviews.

Should I still go to the job fair without interviews?

Just for networking?

Just got 20 emails too for the reception. Wondering if it will be worth changing my flight.

same problem here, no idea what is going on

because they all start with "Congratulations on being selected to participate in the 2014 BLG Job Fair! "

I just called them and apparently some of this was in error. They said that anyone with a scheduled interview is invited and everyone without any scheduled interviews is not. No idea what will happen, just sharing what they told me!

Same here. 20 emails telling me I am pre-selected. But it still shows "applied" under the bidding/application.

Wow. So far the job fairs I've participated in have been pretty poorly run. This one definitely takes the cake, though.

Email glitches =/= poorly run. See CCBA Career Fair.
Got the 20 emails too. I would say that wasn't as bad as CCBA, though sending invites to students who can't attend is a little bad.

Someone above said something about going to the fair without interviews. It's my understanding that you can only attend the reception and the job fair if you have interviews (you have to register on site).

What is appropriate female attire for the reception tomorrow night?

not female and won't be at the reception, but I'm assuming if it's

business casual: pair of slacks/tasteful skirt, a nice blouse, tasteful (business) heels or flats (no open toe); jacket optional, don't go overboard with makeup, minimal accessories

business formal: pant-suit or skirt-suit, business heels or flats, minimal accesories and don't go overboard with makeup

I don't know if you would go stockings v. bare legs for a skirt, but friends I asked have gone either way.

Hope this helps!

Been calling/emailing BLG about cancelling my interviews. They have not gotten back to me. This is the worst run fair ever.

Are you calling Lena's number? She's picked up each time I called with questions. Also I know from a conversation with her yesterday that schedules were finalized and sent to employers yesterday.

Of course I did. I just have bad luck.

Does anyone know if we need to register before our interviews or anything like that? I got an opportunity to have another meeting right before my first interview of the day and I want to make sure I am going to have enough time to get into my interview when I enter the Sheraton.

And yes 12 unanswered calls to the office today, 2 emails and a voicemail. Love it.

Sorry didn't see this until now. There's a registration desk there though I don't know what time it opens. You register and then head to a lottery table if you're trying for lottery interviews.

Thanks! What if it's not to lottery though? Do I need to do something to pass go to my first interview?

I think you still register but you don't head to the lottery table.

Good luck today everyone!

[Edit]Seems like registration will be on the 3rd floor in the Hampton room, though no one is here yet (the hotel has an 8:30 start time though I don't know how much weight to give to that).

[Edit 2] Got booted to the lobby, seems we aren't allowed up there until 8:15-8:30

So any callbacks go out Friday? Are people expecting to hear back today?

I didn't interview with them, but Choate has a written policy of extending CB invites within 24 hours - those should have gone out already.

Yeah, I didn't interview with them either, but I heard of one Choate CB Friday afternoon. I also just got a boilerplate follow-up from Foley and Lardner with the typical "we're reviewing your application, etc."

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
