Changed again (decreases in numbers) Looks like people are being pulled for lottery/they are scheduling interviews slots.

Silly question, but what does "estimated 2L slots" even mean? Does that mean the total number of 2L spots in their 2015 summer class?

The firm I'm alt for has 1 slot lol

Also, from the email:
BADF Email wrote:I will run a scheduler on Symplicity to fill the remaining open slots for each employer on Tuesday, July 15. Please note that open slots are extremely limited, so your acceptance of the alternate selection does not guarantee an interview slot.
So even if we log on right away at midnight and manage to accept an alternate selection, we STILL might not get an interview?

Ufh, that totally blows. Thankfully, I don't have much else going on (just a couple preselects in addition to one alt) so hopefully I won't run into scheduling issues if I can sneak in

Unrelated note: there was talk above about the system dropping Latham bids, and now it looks like they have 34 open slots for SV. What's up with that?

For some reason they were dropped off the bid rankings. For me, I found there box on the bottom of the 2nd page and it said preselect. I knew I ranked them, just thought they withdrew from the fair. They're scheduling hasn't gone through yet though, my other preselects have all been scheduled but Latham has not, which is why they are still at 34. Something is probably funky between them and the Simplicity system.

Update on Latham:

Interview Scheduled and it looks like it has 14 open alternate slots. I can only imagine how many people thought that Latham had dropped and didn't see that they might have been preselected (I mean, theres really no reason to scroll down to the bottom of page 2).

Bad news: it seems like alternate scheduling is no longer purely first-come first-serve. The system is taking into account the candidate's time slot availability as well. I think it means that anyone with interviews already scheduled over the open slot(s) is out.

Don't let it affect you. Like above poster mentioned, the slots are definitely skewed top-heavy. There were only like 88 offers TOTAL last year, and I'm sure most of them went to like the same 7 superstar candidates

T2 (Top 25%)
AA

7 Preselects
0 Alts
0 Lottery

I booked my flight last week so I paid a fortune in airfair. I really hope that I get at least one call back.

Also my two most important interviews are 5 minutes apart from each other. God damn.

This for me as well. I wonder if the interview rooms are all on the same floor, at least. Anyone with knowledge of the Hilton in SF know what the room numbers mean? (Mine are all in the 40s-60s.)

Coworker forwarded response from BADCF coordinator. Not sure if interviews are scheduled close together on purpose. All of mine are in the afternoon, rooms 10's to 40's; bringing flats for the stairs

Shouldn't every interview be your "most important"?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
