If Manhattan calls your references before contacting you about whether or not you've advanced to the next round, is it safe to assume that's good news?

Unfortunately, I don't think it means anything. I've read before of people who had their references checked only to be rejected months later.

Re: 2013 NY DA Offices
Just had my 3rd round at Bronx. Anyone know how soon an offer or rejection should be expected?
I have also done 2 rounds at Manhattan Queens, so I hope to hear something from them soon too.

Has anyone had a final-round interview at the Nassau County DA?

I have a final round coming up with Queens. Any advice? Also waiting to hear back about a 3rd round with Manhattan. They told me I should hear in 2-3 weeks if I got it. So I'm assuming that means bad news if I hear nothing and it's been more than 3 weeks?

I'm not the quoted Anon, but I had my references checked after a Manhattan DA interview and was rejected about two months later. I called a few times in between and was told that I was under review.Geist13 wrote:Read of instances by the Manhattan DA or generally?Anonymous User wrote:Unfortunately, I don't think it means anything. After which round did they call your references and then ultimately reject you?

Re: 2013 NY DA Offices
When I did my first round, my interviewer hinted that they are very slow for their later rounds. Basically, I was asked what I would do about the Bar if it came to be March-ish and I was still in the running but had not yet been hired (a legitimate question because I don't attend school in New York).Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone had a final-round interview at the Nassau County DA?
Does your question suggest they have given second round interviews already? How many rounds do they have? Three?

First, but it was for a summer position and not an entry-level ADA position, so the first interview was also the final interview.Anonymous User wrote:After which round did they call your references and then ultimately reject you?

Any other anecdotes about references being called by Manhattan only to receive a rejection?

Does anybody know anything about hiring at Brooklyn? I'm mostly wondering about their timeline for offers.

They usually start interviewing in January and give offers throughout the Winter.Anonymous User wrote:Does anybody know anything about hiring at Brooklyn? I'm mostly wondering about their timeline for offers.

How did the process work? Number of rounds, time between rounds, when they called references, etc. I recently had an interview with them and can't find any information on how this works. Thanks.Anonymous User wrote:I actually recently received an offer from Brooklyn..Anonymous User wrote:They usually start interviewing in January and give offers throughout the Winter.Anonymous User wrote:Does anybody know anything about hiring at Brooklyn? My first round was with the executive panel (early October). Not sure if any references were called as I did not follow up closely with that side - sorry. I received a call this past week and came in to meet with DA Hynes. The meeting was all of 5 minutes and the offer was made.

Re: 2013 NY DA Offices
Do you have ties or connections? I applied in Sept. and while I'm getting interviews/panels at other offices, I've heard nothing from BK other than "your app has been received." I'm getting itchy about it since I have another offer expiring sometime late January but I really like BK.Anonymous User wrote:My first round was with the executive panel (early October). Re: 2013 NY DA Offices
Just got rejection email from Manhattan DA. I know they had contacted at least one of my references a few weeks back, so I thought it was a good sign. Oh well. Still waiting for a decision from Bronx and waiting on 3rd round in Queens.
