Both callbacks done. One V100, one boutique firm. Time to start praying. I'll hear Fridayish from the V100, but not for a few weeks from the boutique.

LET US PRAY

I apologize if this is old news, but did anyone see this article or hear this news before? I did not know that Blank was going to $140 or Stradley to $125, since the NALP form doesn't reflect those rates.

That would definitely make me rethink Blank Rome considering I've only heard negative things about their health. 140k in Philly is a lot.

And importantly (for some of us) does this mean the Ballards, Drinkers, and Peppers of the city will go up to keep pace by the time we rising 2Ls actually start at these places in two years? Any thoughts?

As we move from callback season to offer season, I just wanted to sincerely wish all who are present the best of luck. We worked our asses off last year and hopefully we're all about to receive some much deserved recognition.

Better question is will Dechert, Duane, and Morgan go to 160?

i doubt it very much. there's just no reason to. 145k in Philly already gives you more than 160k in NYC or DC. i fail to see any philly firm arbitrarily raising it to 160 absent severe inflation. especially not ITE.

Is Dechert a prestigious firm?

145 is ample to compete with NY firms, but if many philly firms go to 140/145 the prestige Dechert and Morgan offer may not be enough to lure top talent.

This may be true. Even if there is a significant "second tier" paying $135-140k, most of those firms are going to offer significantly better chances at partnership, purely statistically speaking. While a lot of people won't leave $20k/year on the table for those or other reasons, I think a lot would leave $5k/$10k (and the "prestige") on the table.

would LOVE to see Ballard go up to 135-140. That would push them to top choice for me.

What does Morgan Philly currently start at? I have Morgan Lewis and Blank Rome CB's next week, but I haven't even looked into salaries or any info like that

Can anyone report on the full-time offer rate for 2011 SA's in Philly? I know Dechert gave 100% offers.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
