Seton Hall 2012

Post by LegalPink » Sun May 03, 2009 9:13 pm

Yes, I did it, I am starting this topic.

Spare me the ridicule, the jokes, the annoying advice and interrogations...I'm assuming there are others on here who have chosen Seton Hall...so, here's our thread.

You understand your total cost of attendance will eventually be around 200k + interest, right?

Did I hear somewhere that 90% of judges in NJ are Seton Hall alum?

I applied to Seton Hall in late March...and still haven't heard anything. Anyone else apply this late and hear anything?

I applied (and went complete) in mid January. Just got my acceptance package (by mail) this weekend. Included a pretty good scholarship, so they're apparently still giving out $$.

Hope that helps.

I'm going to SHU too! I'm actually kind of excited to get started, but I'm sure that will all change once class starts.

What kind of law are you interested in?

Cool. I'm into IP too and was thinking of doing one of those concentrations. Probably more toward health law or patents though.

I had forgotten about the cocktail thing. Was that the event at a firm? Are you planning on going?

Great to see incoming Seton Hall students finally active on here! I started a thread weeks ago but it never caught on. I'm an incoming student this fall also... coming all the way from the west coast. I hope to meet more of you on this thread :)

You should join the facebook group guys!
There's a lot of negativity surrounding this school & yea its expensive... but I'm happy with my choice and know I'm not the only one.

Visited the campus last week, and really liked it. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in August

was it an email or snail mail?

How does SHU let you know of decision? email or regular mail?

The decision for me at SHU came via regular mail. I haven't heard of anyone receiving notification by email.

does everyone get an "in review" letter first? or did some people who were accepted/or denied just get that letter?

Sent in my seat deposit today. Class of 2013. :)

Any suggestions for where to live? Somewhere cheaper than Hoboken.

I was told that the in review letter comes out and then you should expect your decision within 6 weeks.... however mine came at least 2 1/2 months after the in review letter

Acceptances come in the mail... big packet/folder :)

Jersey City and Weehawken are just as close and probably cheaper.
If you want to live in a more suburban area -- check out Maplewood - it's not far away (like two train stops) in the opposite direction of NYC. It has a cute downtown though.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
