Guess not then. Never mind, forget I mentioned it.hanshi wrote:Bosque wrote:If you guys are willing to put rivalries aside, we have a pretty good apartment discussion going on in the Duke 2012 thread. I'm sure Duke fans are eager to do that now.
P.S. Go Heels!!Here's a map (LinkRemoved) of some complexes compiled in a pdf that I found from the UNC pharmacology program website. It's a good guideline for some graduate housing options, and the areas highlighted there are all pretty decent. You can look for more stuff in those general areas. Get much closer to campus, and you'll end up in undergrad territory. There are also A LOT of duplexes, townhouses, and smaller apartment complexes that are just right for graduate students. The only problem is that you kinda have to go to them in order to check them out. I'd look at local newspaper ads (online, see links below) for stuff in the area.

I'm interested in exploring their health law program.queexle wrote:are any of you going in with a certain interest in law? i have no clue. at all. haha just curious
Congrats! I went to Duke UG and am going to UNC LS, so this is just my suggestion about apartments. Living in Durham is cheaper than living in CH, so you may want to consider living in Durham and commuting. The only problem would be the parking situation at UNC - 1Ls don't get permits. If you do live in Durham, though, you can always take the Robertson Scholars bus for free, or there's a possibility you can drive to CH and use a park-and-ride. Of course, I have no idea what you consider affordable. If you're moving from NYC or DC or somewhere, then anywhere in CH is probably comparatively affordable.sweetcharade20 wrote:Oh, and living with boyfriend who is enrolling at Duke for engineering/business grad degree ... coming down in May to see apts! Any suggestions for affordable stuff b/c the two rivals?

We are selling our house in Charlotte. We wanted to buy in the Chapel Hill area, but without any income (my wife is in school full time as well) apart from loans, no one will give us a mortgage. Downsizing sucks!queexle wrote:i heard carrboro from lots of alumni. hippy-like place. fun. not far. i am also looking for a roomate (but just one!), maybe we should start a roommate search thread for all those that are def heels 2012.
