I'm visiting friends tonight, but I'd be up for doing something with people tomorrow or Monday (in between bouts of studying, lol.) What are your plans?silenziatori wrote:Anyways, anybody (at Fordham) doing anything fun this weekend?

I move that we go to that Hell's Kitchen falafel place, or Empanada Mama. We need sustenance.silenziatori wrote:No plans besides studying. Congrats on your mod-ship OS!
I've decided to head home tomorrow afternoon through Monday, so I can't join you guys then. I do love Empanada Mama though, but I think you all know that by now.
Random question: Tuesday's schedule is a regular Tuesday, right? My writing professor assigned work for the upcoming week but I'm 99% sure she said we don't have Monday's schedule for Tuesday, even though she originally thought we did.

For those in town, empanadas tomorrow around 2ish? We'll do it again when you get back!

I'm down for Empanada Mama. Make sure to get the oven baked ones over the corn flour. Oven baked ones tend to be better and crunchier.

The cornflour ones are good when fried, though, no? You're right that they're not crunchy. I have Colombian empanadas in mind.broach911 wrote:I'm down for Empanada Mama. Make sure to get the oven baked ones over the corn flour. Oven baked ones tend to be better and crunchier.

Definitely! Do you know anywhere good?silenziatori wrote:I think we should go for Vietnamese next time we meet up. Who's with me?
The other place we should go (at lunchtime, to keep it cheap) is Hangawi. It's a vegetarian Korean restaurant, and it's to die for.

I'm all for Vietnamese but I definitely want to try ShakeShack. Oh and you guys definitely should try Otafuku (if you like okonimiyaki, takoyaki or yakisoba). They have vegetarian option. Google any of the phrases so you see what they are.

Haha. Alright, Shake Shack it is! Then Vietnamese. Then Otafuku. Then we'll have an arepa/empanada cook-off.broach911 wrote:I'm all for Vietnamese but I definitely want to try ShakeShack. Lol, okay. I'll go to shake shack if they can make those things without cheese. I seriously nominate Candle Cafe, though.

Thus far:
- Shake Shack
- Vietnamese
- Otafuku
- Thai joint out in Astoria
- Candle Cafe
- That falafel joint that OS' roommate was talking about somewhere on 10th?
Plus:
- Crumbs (just because cupcakes in general are awesome)
- Korean BBQ (for the non-veggies among us)
- More empanadas
Yay lists

Sorry, OS. The only other food that is vegetarian on their menu, besides the cheese stuffed Shroom Burger, is fries. They have super delicious milkshakes and custards, though!OperaSoprano wrote:Lol, okay. I'll go to shake shack if they can make those things without cheese. I seriously nominate Candle Cafe, though.
