Did anyone get the CTA Chicago Card yet? I stopped by the 53rd St. Metra today but didn't see anything but Metra ticket machines.

Order now and it may be here by Friday, Monday at the latest. Mine came really quickly. It's super convenient as it automatically reloads.

I got mine mid last week, and I'm not in state... I'd say give it a couple of days and then call if you haven't received it yet.lilybbloom wrote:i'd like to know this as well... i don't like walking around without an insurance card.lawschoolnovice wrote:Does anyone know when we get our school insurance info?

I ordered a Chicago plus card last night online, and then went to the cultural center today to get a 3 day pass since my card wont be here for a few days. You can take bus 6 to get there and get off at michigan ave and randolph to get there and then buy a 3 or 7 day pass at the machine in the visitor center.Raz14 wrote:Did anyone get the CTA Chicago Card yet? I actually got one at Jewel (on Roosevelt Rd) since I was in the area anyway.

Re: Chicago Class of 2012
Arg!! I just tried on my suit that I got a few years ago when I started working and the jacket makes me look like I'm a little girl trying to be grown up. I've lost a little bit of weight upstairs.
If anyone is looking for http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/pr ... =670902002, gently worn maybe five times in a size 4, I've got it. I've got the matching skirt, but it doesn't look bad on me, and I might have to do the cardigan + wool skirt pairing myself.

Yeah, I'll be the person at the dinner not wearing a suit. (Maybe jacket and slacks.) If I could get away with never wearing one at the law firm I used to work for, I figure that I'll be ok here--at least until OCI.
On an unrelated note, the spiders outside my window at Regents are enormous. They are like the sumo wrestlers of spiders. There is one that I actually think may be the size of my palm.

I have only little spiders. They keep my cat entertained.
I've been here for almost two months and still haven't unpacked crap.

I got a skirt suit today. I think I will wear the blazer with a button-down underneath, and just take off the blazer if people are in less formal clothes.

I got my insurance card in the mail after signing up for a plan online. I remember being a little confused about where to get insurance info, how to sign up for the plan, etc. If you haven't signed up for a plan yet, I think you do this through your cMore account. And if you already signed up but haven't received a card, I'd give them a call.lilybbloom wrote:i'd like to know this as well... i don't like walking around without an insurance card.lawschoolnovice wrote:Does anyone know when we get our school insurance info?

Re: Chicago Class of 2012
a few things:
(1) chicago cards are best gotten online. there are two types -- up to you which one you want -- I have the plus and the auto-reload is very convenient. the reason you didn't find a chicago card application at the metra tracks is that the metra is really a suburban rail, and it's completely separate from the CTA, which runs the El and the buses
(2) sign into cMore and elect the insurance. your card arrives in the mail soon thereafter (or, at least, mine did).

Re: Chicago Class of 2012
I didn't wear a suit last year. I wore a clubbing-type shirt and dark pants. Many people wore sports coats/blazers. The dinner isn't that formal, or at least I wouldn't worry about it.
Someone pointed out to me that Hyde Park smells like fish. I hadn't noticed it.
I will still gladly give away Crim/Contracts. (Kinda outing myself here, but whatever; it wasn't hard to figure me out already.)

I will most likely be wearing a suit to the dinner, but I don't think anyone will care as long as you don't show up in a T-shirt and jeans.
