I'm going to be surprised if there isn't another round of acceptances this week.

Okay, the binder is in my possession.
I think the information provided about student housing/student life/new haven is much more satisfying than Harvard's.
Haven't found where they compare themselves with other schools, however.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed that HLS' binder didn't talk that much about housing/student life.

yeah, this has a whole section just on living in New Haven. Apparently they're a little self conscious about the town's image. Seems nice, however, all you need to impress me is a high quality brewery.

So, did I hear right that Yale doesn't have any on-campus living options?
(And, FWIW, I agree that it was a bit odd that Harvard didn't even talk about its different housing options.)

No there are on campus living options. Just not specific to law school students, it's a grad housing complex.iagolives wrote:So, did I hear right that Yale doesn't have any on-campus living options?

Apparently, most choose to live in town because it's so cheap and close to the law school. According to the binder, a one bedroom apartment is 750-1000 dollars a month.

the link didn't work for me either.SparkyLives wrote:the link to rsvp for the asw isn't working for me. This true for anybody else?
i didn't mean they compared themselves to any specific school - i was referring to sentences that said things like "we have small classes, most other schools don't" or "we do our writing program like x, not the way most other schools do". it wasn't a super big deal, somehow just bugged me the first time i read through the materials.

Haha, I like littleboyblue's posts on this thread. It's almost as if s/he's underwhelmed by his/her Yale acceptance. It's a unique and welcome perspective -- usually TLSers are just drooling all over themselves at the prospect of attending Yale.

Okay I know what you're talking about. I didn't interpret it the same way, but I certainly see how one can do so.littleboyblue wrote:the link didn't work for me either.SparkyLives wrote:the link to rsvp for the asw isn't working for me. This true for anybody else?

Although I'd be shocked at a Yale acceptance--how many miracles can one experience in a lifetime? --I enjoy visiting this thread, as I find the posts fun to read. I'm not surprised by Yale's silence since the beginning of 2009. With the application deadline merely one month away (and the debilitating impact of the current economy on, presumably, a significant number of applicants), my guess is that the admissions office will announce the next round of acceptances later than usual. For your sakes, though, I hope I'm wrong.

Re: Yale Law School Class of 2012
I could see that being the case. The only thing I can think of is that, because of Yale's unique point system, there will be files which were read at the end of last semester but after the first round and have thier scores and at least some of them will be high enough that they will admit regardless of where those numbers lie in relation to others. So, I think that there will be another round probably next week. However, it might be the case that the rounds come later/more frequently as they struggle to place more "fence sitters"OperaAttorney wrote:Although I'd be shocked at a Yale acceptance--how many miracles can one experience in a lifetime? --I enjoy visiting this thread, as I find the posts fun to read. Of course, I could also be completely wrong. For better or worse, I just want to know!

Of course. A professor might end up using mine for furnace fuel .mallard wrote:There are also some new apps since December.

There's no doubt in my mind there will be some acceptances this upcoming week. For everyone else already accepted looking thru this thread: set on Yale yet?

Re: Yale Law School Class of 2012
While yale was my dream school coming into this process, I am trying to regain some sense of perspective on the decision. I definitely want to visit Y, S, and H (if I get in) and any other school that gives me lots of money. I guess I will try to not make up my mind until after those visits... and the receipt of financial aid packages.KP429 wrote:There's no doubt in my mind there will be some acceptances this upcoming week.
