Re: Cornell Class of 2012
the places that i have been finding available now are all about a 20 minute walk from myron taylor. 20 minutes seems fine and all during the fall, but it seems a bit rough for the winter. For anyone who is already there, is 20 minutes a far walk? I am not out of shape or anything, work out everyday...but just curious!

Re: Cornell Class of 2012
I live about 10 mins away, at the bottom of collegetown, right next to the Valentine Place Apts. I walked every day, and while it could get dicey the day after it snowed. Generally it was fine. You should also check out some bus schedules, they usually do run in the mornings, so you might be able to catch a lift.outofbubble wrote:the places that i have been finding available now are all about a 20 minute walk from myron taylor. 20 minutes seems fine and all during the fall, but it seems a bit rough for the winter. Hey guys, I was just wondering if there were any assigned cases (readings) for the Student Orientation that begins on the 25th of Aug. I know there are a bunch for the academic orientation slated for the 17-21 of Aug.; I'm just not sure about the other one. Thanks

That might be tough if you really live inside a North Korean dictator's pants.joonbug wrote:Oooh,

Re: Cornell Class of 2012
quick loan disbursement question:
the grad plus app offers you the option of applying only for fall, and then later for spring, or for the whole year at once..
i don't know how much i will need in spring so i only want to apply for fall..
does that mean i will have to pay the 2.5% origination fee twice?
tia ..

hey guys, i found a place to live!!!
thanks for all of your messages and help. i really appreciate it! the place is a 16 min walk -- but it is really great inside. also, if you are still looking for housing, please contact me. i found a place for $750 that is a smaller sized studio, but only 10 min walk from myron taylor.

Yeah were supposed to look through a few cases and look at the upcomming syllabus for supreme court cases. They emailed us the info and also mailed it. Got it a week or two ago.markakis wrote:Hey guys, I was just wondering if there were any assigned cases (readings) for the Student Orientation that begins on the 25th of Aug. tia ..So if you borrow 10K over the whole year, you pay what $250, origination fee. If you borrow 5k in the fall and 5k in the spring, you still pay $250, that's what's great about percentages.

i know everything you wrote.. my question wasn't really about that at all.. i guess i should have phrased it better..but it's all good.. i contacted the financial aid office and they helped me out with my questions..
thanks for the % lesson tho!

Thanks. Do you by any chance know the names of the cases? I'm just confused because I was invited to the earlier academic orientation too and I have a bunch of cases lying around and don't know which one is which.JJim1919 wrote:Yeah were supposed to look through a few cases and look at the upcomming syllabus for supreme court cases. If you have to walk up any part of the hill, 20 minutes sounds pretty awful.outofbubble wrote:the places that i have been finding available now are all about a 20 minute walk from myron taylor. 20 minutes seems fine and all during the fall, but it seems a bit rough for the winter. Bobby v. Bies is for the regular orientation. Gideon v. Wainwright, Brown v. Mississippi and Mapp v. Ohio are all for AOP. We'll also be reviewing Miranda v. Arizona on Tuesday.markakis wrote:Thanks. Panda, are you going to have a car? Flying in and out of Syracuse is generally a lot cheaper - especially SkyBlue to NYC. Although, sometimes you can get deals in and out of Tompkins. I had to book a flight for my spouse to Europe this weekend, and found them cheaper here than Syracuse.panda wrote:tickets to ithaca are so f*cking $$$$$$$$$

SkyBlue sounds like a good name for an airline though...or a perfume.mbw wrote:Oops. Yes. I did the same thing the other day on FB. if i had a car..i would go ahead and drive to ithaca from here.. (im in the outskirts of Detroit.. )
i eventually found some decently priced long flights.. (1 or 2 stops minimum in random cities..) ..but it's such a hassle..

i was looking at the book list..
there aren't many books we can get without knowing our Section or at least our schedule.. a lot of them have different required books..
