At which event is this occurring?

It's the last Headnotes event of the year (law school student singing group). It's in one of the law school student commons areas, so it's "mainstream" in the sense that it's not off campus or behind a dumpster or something. I wouldn't call it "official" any more than anything else that goes on around here though.

Ha. This guy tried to get me to audition when I was at Preview... not so sure now.

That answered my question. There won't be naked people singing in front of my grandmother at graduation or anything. That's what I'm mainly concerned about...

I definitely recommend the LC. The only reason I didn't live there is because of my dog. But the people at the LC make friends very quickly and get invited to more things. This is because everyone is in close proximity (they live together, eat together, etc.) so there's a very low cost to mingle and invite people to things. That said, I suppose the hyper-social aspect of the LC is a reason to avoid it -- lots of people using the same bathroom, less privacy, sharing a small dorm space, etc. However, most of the rooms I've seen seem pretty decent.

There is one exception to the "LC is better for your social life" rule. If you can find some other 1Ls, rent a house with them, and throw big parties, then you will get the best of all worlds.

There's nobody in Headnotes that I'd want to see naked, so I'm not seeing how that's a selling point.

You might even be too late for the Lawyers Club. They are going to fill up quickly this year because one of the sections will not be in use because it'll be housing construction materials.

I emailed Diane (LC Director about this since it worried me, lol. Her response:

"How these rumors get legs is beyond me.
I have plenty of space.
Feel free to apply, I'll take care of you.
Send the app any way you wish.

Please feel free to dispel the rumor at any opportunity!"

So, for anyone who hasn't applied yet, no need to worry.

For full disclosure, Diane N. is crazy, and EVERYBODY knows it. Maybe, she does have space, but last year people who applied this late got waitlisted for the LC. I couldn't imagine the demand being drastically different this year.

that's odd, the student i talked to while i was at preview said he applied at the very last minute and got a room without a problem. funny how different ppl can see things so differently. whatevs, i'm not bothered. she says she has room, so i happily sent in my app.

You can buy Michigan stuff online, but the only place I've seen Michigan Law stuff is in Ann Arbor.

Did any of you receive confirmation that your seat deposit was received?

I did. Received the confirmation letter about a week later. The admitted students site (mail and money) will show if they sent out a confirmation letter.

What store is good for this? Most of the ones I went to had no UM Law stuff, or else just one t-shirt or something. I really like the shirt they gave us at the preview weekend, and would like to get a pair for my mom and dad.
