Re: UVA Class of 2012
I haven't decided on UVA yet, but wherever I decide to go, I will probably look for one. I know a lot of people suggest not having a roommate during 1L, but I really don't like living by myself (something I found out during UG).ak9786 wrote:does everyone already have roomates? or does anyone need a roomate?

Re: UVA Class of 2012
people argue not to have a roommate, not a suitemate. Many ppl in law school live with 2-4 other suitemates. But few live with a roommate (as in 2 beds in a room).jdn012 wrote:I haven't decided on UVA yet, but wherever I decide to go, I will probably look for one. Re: UVA Class of 2012
I just want to live in a 2br/2ba or 3br/3ba because living by yourself is blah and expensive, and we will be working hard anyway first year no sense in getting a 1br/1ba with all those expenses if you will be at the library most of the time.
so if anyone needs a roomate message me or let me know,

Re: UVA Class of 2012
i stand corrected, i meant suitemate. Although i swear there was another thread on TLS where the options were living by yourself or with someone else (not sure if this meant roommate or suitemate though, i thought they were used interchangeably).legends159 wrote:people argue not to have a roommate, not a suitemate. Re: UVA Class of 2012
Just got a nice scholly offer from UVA
However, they said to log into Student Information System to determine the need-based grants/loans that I've received, and I can't seem to get at it. Has anyone had any luck deciphering the UVA admitted student/SIS/Portal website system? I've gotten three different passwords and usernames and it's difficult to figure out where I'm supposed to be looking for anything. And does anyone know if the scholarship offers that are going out are strictly merit-based? How much of it is need-based? Does the only need-based aid come in the form of loans?
Thanks for any answers!

By way, UVA sends out letters to people not getting scholarships too, so don't freak out too soon if you see mail from UVA.

that's good to know. So everyone should be expecting some sort of mail or email from them.lsatbobby wrote:By way, UVA sends out letters to people not getting scholarships too, so don't freak out too soon if you see mail from UVA.

Well, I applied ED w/ a 170 and 3.55, so I'm not really expecting any financial aid. But I'm still holding out hope that putting ZERO as the amount that my parents make will help me get some need-based $$$$.

In NY, got one today (makes my NYU acceptance oh so bittersweet.), postmarked 3/23.
I also tried looking around SIS for the additional information they mention in the letter, but I'm thinking it only gets posted after the Visitors decide tuition.
