Re: Harvard Class of 2012
So my attire will be as follows:
- Business casual on Saturday. I want to show off my hot wife, who wants to dress up.
- Business casual on Sunday -- we're going to church in the AM, and don't want to change.
- "Nice" casual on Monday. Casual kakhis and a polo... I think.
Thoughts?

I feel like I have a handicap in these things, because in LA you wear jeans pretty much everywhere. I don't even own khakis. (Edit: or a polo
!)
Needless to say, I'll be wearing jeans.

I just made DC seem uptight. Needless to say from MY end, I don't need to buy any suits for summer gigs. I've got plenty.excitedutterance wrote:I feel like I have a handicap in these things, because in LA you wear jeans pretty much everywhere. I don't even own khakis. (Edit: or a polo!)

Re: Harvard Class of 2012
And I guess I just made LA seem slovenly, when it's actually a never-ending parade of self-important, highly entitled pretty people. And the only reason I don't wear polos anymore is because they've become synonymous with, and more or less isolated to, the greek community. I love my frat and all, but I'm just not that fratty. I do own a decent amount of business attire, but there's no way I'm wearing that all day long during the ASW.ndnlawdc wrote:I just made DC seem uptight. I've seen snow 6 times in my life. One of them was last weekend: I went to Mammoth--and forgot a jacket. I don't even own any clothing that will keep me warm if it "feels like" anything near 22 degrees. Maybe I'll just bring a blanket and wrap myself in it.sluggo wrote:wtf

Ha, yeah, I've never been north of the Mason-Dixon, don't own a coat, and absolutely hate being cold. It's going to be a rough three yearsexcitedutterance wrote:I've seen snow 6 times in my life. I'm from the "south" and went to UG in New England. It sucks. Badly.
There's no getting used to the cold -- 3 years of being here or not.

I just bought a new "dress" heavy winter coat. I have to go to either HLS, NYU, or Michigan. Stanford is out.

Re: Harvard Class of 2012
Hah, I was just making a facetious comment about how I wasn't going to waste the $120 I spent on that coat by moving to Stanford. In reality, SLS is going to have to come through with some major bucks to make it happen.Pumpkin wrote: ndn, i am in the exact same position as you (well, i have lots of winter coats), but deciding between those 3. if you have any epiphanies let me know.
Program-wise, it makes most sense for me to go to HLS. The best Indian law program at one of the best schools.
Money-wise, it will make more sense for me to go to Michigan or NYU.
NYU would be so.much.fun. but has exactly ZERO AI/AN students enrolled. That makes me wonder what sort of community I'll have there. Outside of other groups (Christian legal society, public interest), that is.
Which is why I still lean toward Michigan... unless HLS comes through with that AI/AN scholarship.

Re: Harvard Class of 2012
Would anyone mind PMing me KB's email address (or anyone else's at Admissions)? I'm still "under review" but I recently received a full scholarship from a T14 that I want to casually mention to the Admissions Committee, and the people at jdadmiss@law.harvard.edu just sent me a standard response about mailing any additional materials and didn't really answer my query.
Thanks a lot!

Haha so I might switch it up and actually buy a decently presentable jacket tomorrow.
Although perhaps I'll bring the Steelers coat as well for when we hit up a bar or get food or something.

Should we make a separate ASW thread for those attending? If not, is anyone: a) planning on making a list? b) outing themselves this weekend? I'd definitely like to meet some of you all in person.
