Agreed on the scholarship stipulation. Hopefully I'm not kicking myself at this time next year for not taking the identical scholarship at Illinois stipulation free
I think the current students made a good point about it turning away potential students. If I did not have other reasons for attending Iowa that trumped the stipulation problems I would have attended Illinois, no question. Please oh please let them get it removed!

Dean Byrd said it was mandated by the faculty committee or something to that effect when I called and asked to have it removed.

Thanks, that's interesting to know. However, it still doesn't answer the question.

And the week concludes with an exam. Enjoy.

Does the exam count on our transcripts or is it just a preview?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a current student said it is pass/fail, and that everyone passes.

You get 1 credit for the intro course and the exam is graded but it's P/F (but you do get specific feedback about how your essay and MC responses fared compared to everyone else--i.e. 50th percentile, 25 percentile).

Yeah, I've heard rumors that someone occasionally "fails" it and has to take the test again until they pass, but that's not substantiated.

This kinda sounds like an enforced law preview except taught by our eventual professors.

I just got back from Iowa City! I'm in love.
And the best part is, I think I found a sweet place to live! (Granted my application is approved of course)

I'm glad you liked Iowa City. Whereabouts is your prospective pad?
Edit: does it have a juicer?

Haha no I toured on Friday with another girl who was great. That would have been weird...I think we would all know if we ever came in contact with another TLSer, we can smell our own.

Wait, there's another chick hot enough to rival Whitty touring the law school? Let's hope she attends!

Not gonna happen. In fact I don't think I'll feel better for at least..27 days, until I live there.

+1 What is this nonsense? Sounds like straightedge bs to me.
At least that's the reputation of SE here in Reno, can't say for sure that it translates to IC.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
